after site expenses I dont think its THAT great of an amount, still must be decent living.

Advertising is measured on CPM (flat rate per 1000 impressions) or CPC (cost per click) basis.

I would assume VGchartz is part of a larger ad network which gets them a lot of these borderline spam like ads like "sponsor a child" by world vision. These ads are sold on a really low CPM basis. something like 1-2 dollars per 1000 impressions.

Id need to know monthly traffic that the site does...but its safe to say advertising revenue is represented witht he following formula.

monthly traffic / 1000 * 1-3 dollars

So if the site does 2 million impressions a month, it does $2000 at worst and $6000 at best.
