I've never played this game but I love seeing success stories of the Wii variety.
Well played, Boom Blox, well played..
Pixel Art can be fun.

If anyone has played both, which is better?
Hmmm, that's strange... Amazon has the original for $50 (only 3rd party) but the party for $30?

OP,mind posting the chart?I can't be bothered 2 load it on my slow PC now.... |
Sadly I don't know how to post the graph directly. Here is the link, which compares boom blox with it's sequel:

The second one has more content (including downloadable content). In my oppinion it is slightly better than the first one.

No. The sequel is though. Thankfully. |
Sadly the sequel is the good version of the game. It's what the first game should have been. The first game suffers from bad controls.
Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.
I bet half of those were bought by Rol, who then threw them into a volcano.
Anyway, congrats Boom Blox, now the sequel needs to hit decent numbers as well so we may see Boob Blox in the future.

Word on the street is that Boom Blox Bash Party isn't quite the failure that VGC makes it appear to be:

I don't want to say too much but...
The creator of Bloom Blox, Lou Castle, is my boss. He commented about BB and BBBP on his introductory speech to our company since it was his last project at EA prior to coming to us.
To sum it up:
VGC is way, way off. According to what I heard BBBP > BB in terms of success. That is all I'll say. I know a bit more but I don't want to breach my NDA. Sufficive to say, I had no idea VGC had BBBP cited at such a number.

Glad to see it. I had (and sold) Boom Blox. Eventually I'll get around to getting Bash Party. the problem is they are too close to the same game and the original is cheaper.
Common problem on Wii. Look at Tiger Woods, last week '09 outsold '10 despite '10 having WM+ and frisbee golf. Why? It's cheaper. Same with PES, DDR and even Guitar Hero, newer versions have their sales eaten away by their older, cheaper counterparts.
Most Wii owners are also happy with just one version of a particular game. They aren't the type to buy yearly versions (unless it's somehow signficantly different).
Famousringo beat me to it!
So this thread is premature, and Bash Party is not a flop.
