Pachter: Xbox 360 Price Cut in 2010

Here's another one of Michael Pachter's predictions. Last week he predicted the subscription cost for Xbox Live would increase to $10 a month soon. Now he's saying the price of the Xbox 360 will be cut in 2010. In November, the PS3 saw an 85% year-over-year sales increase while the Wii and Xbox 360 saw sales decreases. This is the reason Pachter and his Wedbush associates drew the conclusion, which said, "We think that the PS3 will again outsell the Xbox 360 in November and December, prompting a price cut some time early next year."

Microsoft "has the ability to lower price yet again," but it probably won't until "it begins to lose significant market share to Sony," added Pachter.

No they don't need more, it will barely pick up sales. They should just concentrating on making profit.

Didn't pachter predict a PS3 price cut every month till it actually happened?

Oh Michael, explain to me how doubling the price will result in not more than half of people dropping XBox Live? Is Microsoft going to bundle a massive-multiplayer online game with it?

Pachter's solution to every problem the console manufacturers have is more price cuts. It's funny, isn't that exactly what he would say if he was bought and paid for by a third party publisher..

I don't think it will make much difference if they do drop the price which is rumored to be only 50 bucks.... I own both and ps3 slim is such a better overall system cuz of blu Ray and online is free as a plus.

I think people are now realizing what a great system ps3 is that and the price cut .

Probably not. More likely it it will just be bundled with natal. If there is a price drop it will probably be $30 or so.

With all the games the Xbox 360 had coming early next year (hell, the whole year), the price cut would be pretty effective.
