Forums - Gaming - Dear Square Enix, make Takeharu Ishimoto your prime composer

that cosmos song is NOT by him. its by a band called "Your Favourite Enemy"
and please don't these songs don't fit Final fantasy, but fit Star Ocean.

I do agree that he's a rising star in Square, but I don't think he's quite up to that status yet.

P.S., you'd have a lot more convincing case if you bothered to get Crisis Core songs.

He should've at least did the music for the Cosmos song, and not necessarily the lyrics. Shoji Meguro and Uematsu both do that. Make up the background music, have a band sing it. And I wouldn't be surprised if someone else wrote the lyrics besides the band and Ishimoto.

And of course not all these songs fit FF. For example, they're not gonna put TWEWY style music in FF, thatd be stupid. The dude has different styles than just those, those are just some of my favorites. But SE has more games than just FF. It's the same way Namco doesn't use Sakuraba for all their games and Atlus don't use Meguro for all their games either...just the more fitting ones.

@outlaw

Well I don't like CC's music too much, lol. But TWEWY is my favorite soundtrack and Dissidia is good too.

nope the band wrote and compused the two songs + the bonus song on the soundtrack

besides most of the music he arranged are actually Uematsu's original music remixed for Dissidia from each game.

Well, you can obviously see you're in the minority. I was suggesting a way to win more people over with complementing the unpopular JPOP of TWEWY.

Saying nothing about the quality, mind you.

Another Yasunori Mitsuda masterpiece

But not good enough for Takeharu to become Square Enix's prime composer.

Again, I never said anything about the quality of the soundtrack, but it does not have wide appeal.

I think rather differently :) I'm not really a fan of Mitsuda. From those ARF songs the only one I like is the boss battle theme 2 but that's not as good as the songs in the OP except the CC one.

Good for you.

I think he is good, but his work in Crisis Core and Dissidia were mainly rehashes of what Uematsu did before, I really didnt like the songs of TWEWY you posted there, especially the third.

He would be more fit for a band than soundtrack composer. His songs lack the deepness Uematsu has given some of his songs. He is really good, but he hasnt made anything better than the ones he competes with, and the OST from FFXIII Ive listened stand as good music for a main FF game.

What are you basing this on? Views? Because the TWEWY songs have a lot of views too (Calling as 125k+ views). And I'd say the TWEWY songs are more memorable. Same with Dissidia and I posted a very high view count vid for Dissidia.

TWEWY's music sucks. Get over it :P
