Forums - Sony - Would A UMD Drive Convince You To Buy A PSPgo?

Source: SILICONERA

According to a rumour at CVG, peripheral manufacturer Logitech are developing a UMD drive add-on for PSPgo. "The only problem is that it’ll make the PSP a little bulky," mentioned CVG’s source.

The lack of a UMD drive is what has most hurt perception of the PSPgo in the portable games market, so it really isn’t all that surprising that a peripheral for UMD support is under consideration. It would also explain why no one from Sony has really addressed the issue of existing PSP users being able to transfer their UMD games to the PSPgo so far.

Bulky PSPgo vs. PSP-3000 with a built in UMD drive. To be fair, we’ll imagine the UMD drive lets you install any game to the PSPgo so you can sit on a couch and play it with a PS3 controller. Your choice?

No I'd rather buy a PSP 3000. The small size of the GO makes it a big no for me. I still have DS Phat for a reason. Not to mention the GO's smaller screen and the fact that I could just be 16GB Memory stick for the 3000 to begin with.

It would help... but I just don't have the time for portable gaming anymore

Kinda defeats the purpose of the go, and I would pay a max of about $130 for the go. So, unless the price comes way down, NOTHING would make me consider it.

If I could install my UMD games on my PSP go then I would buy one in a heartbeat... I really want to buy one anyway, it is quite hard to resist! It just looks so good

If I could install the UMD on it, hell yes. I am waiting for a PSP2 to be honest.

No! A UMD addon defeats the object of the PSP Go!

haha no! If it was $150 with a UMD drive I'd MAYBE buy it.

If they dropped the price to $170 just like the PSP 3000 and if it came packed it.

I think I'll stick with my 3000. A UMD drive would make the Go completly pointless.
