PS3 gets a A for 2009. The slim and the constant amazing games from Killzone 2 to Uncharted 2 kept PS3 fans happy. Oh and online has continued to get better and its free!

360 gets a C+. It had Forza 3, ODST, GTA DLC, and a couple others but really nothing that great. Multiplat games made 360 worth having in 2009 ie Assassin's Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2, etc.

Wii gets a D. If it wasn't for NWMBW, Little Kings story and Punch Out!! then I wouldn't have been able to find a reason to buy a Wii (if I was looking to buy one).

I personally enjoyed MS the best. After Sony revealing the psp go, it made me lost hope in them.

That's a rather poor year in review tbh "PS3 gets an A for games and online!" "360 gets a C+ for games" "Wii gets a D for having games but I'm not interested in the console!"

That's why this thread is all personal opinions.

PS3 had the best games by a mile and introduced the slim (at $299)

360 had a couple good exclusives and nothing else

Wii I'm actually going to upgrade to a "C" because I forgot about the $50 price drop. But still very few good games released.

Discussions are a mixture of both facts and opinions, and when you're trying to put it into context of your perspective it's best to word it that way and then explain reasons for your perspective.  Sorry if you don't put the effort into stating your points and backing them up with reasons its easy for someone else to come in, take what you say the wrong way, rip it apart, and then starts a long string of quoting, to which usually ends in someone getting reported.

I know I had a wall o' text for the OP but my bottom line was that the PS3 was the overall best this year for the "core" gamer, but I also used that wall of text to explain it.

THAT made you lose hope? Haven't seen you post a positive thing about sony... nor a negative one about MS, no matter what the news was for either.

that's fair, I agree with that. I was a bit lazy there so I didn't describe why I gave each console the rating I did.

Nintendo by far, having released the best 3RD PARTY FPS game to grace the system so far, THE CONDUIT, releasing the best First person shooter that was on the PS3/360 in 2007, CALL OF DUTY 4, and then we add the LIKELY game of the year "SUPER MARIO BROS WII". Then just add sales into the equation, and the answer is clear, nintendo won, like they won, last year, the year before then, and 2007.

Microsoft by far, having released HALO ODST (orignally thought to be just an add on pack) and ofcourse there best games line up yet with FORZA MOTORSPORTS 3 who's graphics can not be touched by any PC game. The 360 outsold its closest competitor the PS3 for the MAJORITY of the year, cleary showing it has a firm grip on the console market. With games like RESIDENT EVIL 5, STREET FIGHTER IV, MODERN WARFARE 2, and the gracious ASSASSINS CREED II, it is clear 360 had both the best gaming line up, and the better sales for the majority of the year.

Sony by far, having been outsold by microsoft for the majority of the year, and nintendo for 3 years straight. Sony dropped the PS3 to $299, and made even the wii fall under its clutches. Forcing both nintendo and microsoft to cut prices, in order to regain there spots, the wii just slipped a bit under year over year sales thanks to its price cut, while the 360 had no boost at all. The ps3 itself OUTSOLD THE 360 for 2009, and it looks to be closing that gap rapidly. In terms of games, KILLZONE 2, INFAMOUS, BATMAN, MODERN WARFARE 2, ASSASSINS CREED, RATCHET, UNCHARTED 2, and GOD OF WAR just show the PS3 had both the best line up and the biggest turn around in GAMING HISTORY in a years time.
