you don't have to save, when you quit the game they will return you to the nearest bed. be that be the hospital or your home bed (on the roof)
you can unlock more hospitals if you help them out by doing their missions.

edit : come to think of the auto save thing, i think Demon's souls have the best auto save, you just turn off the system and when you get back you will be at the same exact spot you left even if you are infront of the boss. its like Elder Scrolls save but being auto

Thanks for the help and tips!

Also did anyone else feel guilty playing evil in the first run through? I mean, I really felt bad about shocking the people trying to get to the food :) Damn the conscience!

I have a hard time playing an evil character. So I chose the good path. I've never played a chaotic evil character in any D&D RPG game, the worst I've been in lawful evil, and that felt weird at first.

I'm tempted to play through again on Evil (mostly for the evil trophies I'll admit), but don't know if I can really be bothered investing the time. I so rarely play games more than once.

If you save, you will retain however whichever checkpoint in the mission you've reached.

Autosave occurs after beating any type of mission. You must save on your own if you're just out shard collecting.

There is no way to skip cutscenes.

I think it's perfectly fine that the main character has only one type of power. I find Superman to be boring, since he can do anything. Characters that have limitations are much more fun. Both gameplay and idea wise, it's also better to just have one type of power, as the creator can really milk out its full potential (I mean look how far Luffy in One Piece goes with his one ability of stretching).

I think that vehicles would have been very out of place, and were unnecessary anyway. You could go faster than cars by riding on the numerous wires around the city. Adding cars would have killed the fast paced fluid nature of the game. Imagine GTA IV styled car jacking and then driving going on, when the creators wanted you to be jumping off a building, and rolling down on another one.

Again, in a super hero game, they should have the hero concentrate on one "gimmick". There are plenty of games that have weapons anyway, those are called TPSs...

I think it is good that inFamous limits itself, as the problem with most sandbox game is that there's an abundance of things that are done OK, but not well. By concentrating on only on foot and electrical powers, they actually created a very free game, by making the controls and movement very intuitive.

The world of inFamous was big IMO. Not GTA IV, but at least there was a lot of variety and detail to the city.
