i'll go with Aerith's death and FF X ending

Zack's death. As fruity as they made it, it was still heartbreaking.

Clock Tower did have some pretty powerful scenes, but no scene on a SNES game comes close to this, IMO:









Maxim and Selan's sacrifice to the world...sniff... My favourite game of all time, and one of the best endings ever :)

Lost Odyssey ending :)



I was seeing this ending on a train back home... People gave me funny looks when they saw me having mushy eyes >_<

Agro got in the way of two different bosses and caused me to die both the ground worm and air snake...

Blacksaber is a Sega fan.

He knows nothing of hurt, pain and dying.

I knew this was gonna happen before starting the game (obviously), but I was in denial the whole time wishing he could make it to Aerith

I understand what you mean, it's A.I wasn't very smart, but I had a fond connection to him at the end :)

lestatdark - thanks for putting it up. If they went through with that, Lost Odyssey would be the winner of this thread in a heartbeat. I don't think any developer has that kind of balls though.

This part is so out of place in this game that works great, not only is a sad moment in gaming but also it's in my opinion the best X'mas moment in gaming.

FFX's ending was beautiful and perfect. Then along came the shitstorm known as FFX-2 and ruined it. Well, it didn't actually, since I erased the memory of playing through that from my brain.

Agro's death was shocking to me. He had been such a faithful and helping companion... I was expecting a comeback though, and I wasn't let down. ;)

MGS1 made me cry so many times one could have thought I was going through mourning.

Emma Emerich's death had me feeling revolted through it all, due to Otacon's behaviour with her mother. I wanted to hurt him for real.
