There was some comment that the president of SQAURE ENIX made some time early last year that I want to confirm it was only me that saw it the time he made an announcement and please prove me if I am wrong. And guys there shouldn't be any flaming, i just want to clarify this fact.

His words were "they will support the WII most, followed by NDS, then PS3 and Xbox 360 last in that order". To the current situation, i believe it is the reverse except for NDS. Out of the 3 consoles, the Xbox 360 has been supported the most with games like Last remnant, Infinite Undiscovery, Star Ocean 4, Final Fantasy XIII that will be out 1st quarter of 2010. The PS3 also have Last Remnant and Final Fantasy XIII. As for WII, they have only done Dragon Quest Sword and FFCC: Crystal Bearer which to me there ain't pure traditional RPG that other consoles are receiving. We have to agree to some degree that we miss great, traditional turn based final fantasy game since the super nes days.

So the question is, did they make mistake in mentioning those statement or are they keeping everything quiet till next year? because this is a call for alarm.

Maybe I am jumping into conclusions too early because in reference to NDS, it had RPG drought for the first 2 years it was launch but this current, I think it should be the console that has the most RPG till date(correct me if I am wrong). Did anyone else also read the announcement that time or it's just me?

but you do have to realize some company's are extremely arrogant and they think by putting one Big IP on a console and not much is supporting... like CAPCOM and MH tri though there shapin up now

it's pretty standard practice to make sure to include a link to your source if your're gonna start a thread.  The burden of proof should be on you.

At the moment, it's DS > PSP > 360 > Wii > PS3.

Those titles were probably on development at the time he said that : /, lets hope we get some RPG´s next year, i think the Wii is getting Kingdom of Hearts and Dragon Quest X, after the Tales game is released i think it would be blind to ignore the RPG base on the Wii, at least on Japan

I don't recall ever hearing Square-Enix president or any repressentative state that they were going to support Wii as their primary console, or DS for that matter. I know Square said they would boost support for Nintendo's systems but I recall Square promising to support the 360 more too. I don't believe for a second that he would rank systems in order of most supported to least supported. To be honest I think you have a wild imagination.

You also forget ChocoboTales and FFCC:EchoesOfTime sure Echoes of time wasn't really that good but it existed none the less. The DS has also been getting tons of Square Enix support. Not to mention FFCC Wiiware Square has been fairly supportive of Nintendo's platforms, sure they could do alot more but you seem to be overlooking the support they are giving right now!
