If Nintendo are to follow up on their supposed "DS bussiness model" on Wii, im pretty damn certain it will have some kinda reboot in 2010. I put money on a Wii with a slight redesign, a new wiimote with built in motion plus and improved online, as well as an SSD and new pack in game. But it will have very similar internal specs.

Imagine an original DS to DSi leap.

That's the only way it is possibly going to happen. No way they'll lock out the Wii crowd at this stage.

Yeah, one Wii per household. You can have the DS Lite for the brother who has all the GBA games, DSi for the mom who likes taking picture, and DSiLL for Grandma and Grandpa. Obviously doesn't work that way with the Wii. The best they can do is make a better controller, hence the Motion+, Balance Board, and Vitality Sensor.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

natal is gonna be a huge success highly potential to be a revolution
its gonna sell alot of Xbox 360s

It needs strong 1st party support to be a success, and that's just not going to happen with Natal or whatever Sony is going to call their wand. They are going to rely on 3rd party developers to sell their motion controls just like they rely on 3rd party developers to sell their systems.

I didn't know Patcher was fat. LOL!

nintendo needs to do nothing, all they need to do is make more games, count there money and keep selling consoles.. like they always do.. a new console is not on my mind yet probably wont be in my mind until 2011 - 2012

Did anyone notice that Pachter starts mumbling something about having seen pictures about the Wii HD when they mentioned Reggie calling him out?

I LOVE ICELAND!

There is one area Nintendo needs to improve dramatically, and that is piracy protection ...

While I wouldn't expect Nintendo to drop the Wii simply do to piracy, I do think that Nintendo will probably release a new console earlier than they might like to to keep piracy to a minimal level. How they achieve this is up to them; they could introduce a "voluntary" upgrade that renders Wii games at HD resolutions with much stronger piracy protection, or they could introduce an entirely new system.

This is entirely possible. With Microsoft and Sony looking to extend this generation a bit longer than previous ones(due to the recession/increasing costs to make games), Nintendo could take advantage and release a new console in late 2011. This console would be slightly more powerful than the 360 and PS3(which should be very cost-effective...you can get a PC that's far more powerful than them for less than their costs right now).
