Forums - Website Topics - Do you look why user has been banned?

I always check why some user has been banned..And then think would I ban form something like that.

Btw most epic ban ever:

Trolling (Hm, where should I begin. First he creates a thread in OT that's obviously nothing but lies to get attention. Then upon entering chat to question him about this, he immediately starts acting shifty, claiming "I didn't do anything" before I even get a chance to speak. Then come the accusations from various respectable members that he was trolling in chat.

Anyway, I start questioning him about his thread, asking him for proof that it happened or I may lock it. He randomly flips out and calls me a "Nintendo hater". And then he starts making up more lies about all the things he "knows" Nintendo are working on, ranging from multiple Zelda titles to Wii ports of Assassin's Creed. I get fed up of his shenanigans, and demand proof lest I ban him. An hour later, and there was no proof to be had. And now he is banned, for everything from blatant lies and spamming to flaming and trolling. Bye YesWiiCan! See you in 90 days! Next time you won't be coming back!) ~ makingmusic476

Do you also check why user has been banned?

Yeah, whenever I see someone banned I look up why it happened.

On occasions i didn't know other people did lol.

i always did, mainly to be in the mods shoes, for example... if i were a mod would i ban him and if i do would it be for X reason instead of X bias reason.

All hypotheticlly speaking of course, i'd be a fair, yet judgemental mod.

Makingmusic gives the most epic ban reasons. I wish he'd ban me :(

I just realized a couple days ago that you could check, so I've been looking sometimes since then.

Even when I didn't post on here, I would look at why people got banned. It's a good way to see how the moderation works on a site. It's like sixaxis said, it's a good way to see things from the mods point of view.

PSN ID: KingFate_

Always.

I don't just read the reason, either; I click through to read the post that caused the ban. It's one of my favorite features on the forum.
