The PSP Go -- half the games at a higher price point.
That is the problem with the unit.

It has great potential -- but it is only really attractive to people who have not sunk a lot of money in UMD games. And it is not attractive for anyone who can do math.

I can do math and I really wasn't interested in any handhal except for the go. But I'm still not getting it because I know itd just collect dust just like any other handheld if I had them.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the Go itself, it's just the problem of why you would purchase it over the PSP-3000.

Anyway, what reason someone has to buy a PSPgo and then buy a UMD adaptor?

It isn't much better get the psp-3000? You'll have a built-in umd reader, a larger screen, and if you wish you can get 16 gb card. Everything for 200$ compared to a 250$ PSP go.

People, i'm happy PSP Go is bombing, this shows that there isn't that many of stupid people in the world.

Retailers aren't exactly the most excited about the Go.  When that happens, you don't expect it to get showcased or promoted at all.  If the PSP were the top handheld model, then Sony might be able to get away with doing the Go.  But, it isn't.

Sony: digital distro is the future.
same Sony after launch: Hurry we shot ourselves in the foot! Oh no!

The PSPGo was never, imo, meant to be a replacement but sold to a sub-branch of the market.
DL only has yet to arrive for the majority of customers, hence its failure.

I foresee a 2010 PSP2 launch.

The rumor wasn't about SONY making an attachment, it was logitech.

That's exactly what it is, both systems are being marketted together and SONY said themselves when announcing the Go that the 3000 isn't going anywhere.

This makes very little sense... You're saying it's a failure because it hasn't succeeded yet... That means you know it will succeed but for now it's a failure. Why?

I know it was Logitech.  I can read too.  The fact of the matter is that the Go is a flop and the PSP2 (or whatever Sony decides to call it) is likely to launch next year.  http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2009/10/16/exclusive-sony-psp2-arriving-in-20102c-features-powervr-sgx543-graphics.aspx

If the Go was meant to be a simultaneous product that could forestall any new product launches, why is Sony going to launch 1 yr after its release? The simple answer is that Sony HQ realized that they had created a lackluster piece of hw.

You're linking to unconfirmed rumors... Even if this were planning to release PSP2 next year, I doubt it would be because they were unsatisfied with the Go. If they're unsatified with the go, stop supporting it and work and focus on the 3000. I don't see how launching new HW helps.

Still, price.  If it were $149 it would be owning in sales.  And I bet the HW cost isn't much more than that.  Sony are just collecting their price premiums from early adopters, like companies always do if they can manage it.

I don't see a PSP2 that's incompatible with Go.  At the very least it would play current PSP titles, of course.  But DS proves handhelds don't need great graphics; PSP/Go can run for a long time, but Sony just needs to get its shit together in terms of price and selling games.  Even a $169 Go with $29.99 downloadable games would fucking FLY off shelves/PSN and Sony would profit.  Hopefully it's only a matter of time before they act consistent with this fact.

Well me and alot of people have some UMD games, so buying a PSP Go is a no Go unless they do this.
UMD support is dead period (Here), so i don't mind going all digital.

Taking away UMD is fine, except, it's too late for PSP. PSP2 going a different format would be better, preferably, non spinning stuff.

it would be stupid for ANY company to make this while Sony still sells PSP 3000's
