Forums - Gaming - Final Fantasy XIII NA,EU theme song VS Japan theme song

@Acevil

That would be the better route for S-E to take, but alas, I don't know if that would be possible to do for both consoles, and S-E won't release content on one console in detriment of the other, at least that's their policy on FFXIII's release, I think.

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

If anything the 360 version would have both songs because Wada <3 360!

@Acevil

I don't think he would survive the backlash of PS3 fans and Nomura himself :P

I don't want to make a confusion. I don't particulary care about the song "My hands", nor do I care about RnB, quite the contrary.

I just think it's a bit too much to allow your experience to be detracted by a single song in the game. I prefer the JP song to the NA/EU version, but I don't go as far as most do to claim that the entire game suffers in quality because of it.

Also, as a side note, why wasn't this same thing said about previous FF songs? After hearing the NA/EU song, it didn't strike me as it being so different from "Kiss me goodbye" or "Eyes on me". I've been a fan of the series since FFIV and have seen a fair share of complains, each time a new FF is released (fans can't never be satisfied, so it seems), but it's the first time they complain about a song and claim that it will ruin their experience.

Kiss me Goodbye was a quansy translation song that use the same tune and similiar lyric in both its Japanese and Western iteration. In both language, It was design for Final Fantasy XII and I'm pretty sure Angela Aki sang both version to boot. Eyes on me didn't even have a Japanese version, there was only the English version sang by Wong Faye, even in the original Japanese release and again, the song was made for FFVIII

This is the first time that Square has picked an existing song from a popular idol as a main FF theme, every single other major FF release had song that were written and composed by Square Enix specifically for the game.

Darth is correct, Echo WILL appeal to more people because it is more mainstream.

This doesn't mean I have to like it. I just really wish they'd include the original or even better, took the effort to translate the song and hire someone to sing it like they did with 1000 Words or Kiss me Goodbye and give that as an option.

It won't make or break the game, but its the little thing that gives you a sense of completion and remind you that SE still cares enough to give a bone to its grassroot supporter in the west.

I guess that won't ever happen again...

Look, I understand what you mean, if you look at my responses, I would too prefer that we would have the original or an option to get both songs instead of just the international version one, since i'm also not particulary fond of Leona Lewis songs or RnB songs for that matter.

I also understand that you might feel a bit betrayed at S-E actions, but us here in Europe have always been getting the short end of the stick when it comes S-E games. We always get the games last, we don't get most of the rare RPG's that come out only in Japan or America and we sometimes we get better versions true, but most of the time we get crappier versions (FFX horizontal bars of crap, I still remember thee)

I've been a grassroot supporter of S-E since Squaresoft and Enix days, and will continue to be so, they are just adapting with the times. A song like this will give a much deserves sales boost, even if us old fans don't particulary agree with it. I just want FF to be succesfull and for the entire quality of the game to be top notch like all Final Fantasy games are, so that's why i'm not letting this affect me, as it shouldn't affect any Final Fantasy fan :)

I just wish, that they offered both...you know offer something for the old fan, and the new fan.

I am sure BOTH songs will feature in the western release

the Japanese one & My hands

I would hope, but not going to hold my fingures.

Also I hope to go no other releases happen after this game is released, for example the zodiac edition.

Like I said, its a minute detraction in my book and won't stop be buying or enjoying the game. And since I'm living in Australia, share the pain of all Pal user when it comes to late or never release gems.

I'm not upset, but I'm also clearly not happy, and I am voicing it because I felt that SE could have and indeed should have done better after all these years when most other Japanese publisher are thinking far more progressively.

And yea, we can't really sustain an argument when both parties shares the same view. :P
