^ Hmmm so I guess that would make me a fan of Populous: The Beginning and not necessarily the Populous Franchise. I still find myself playing it every once in a while, mostly for nostalgic reasons

It is terrible, they have tried throwing in all this new crap. I bought it was meant to be the original game on DS and reviewers claimed it was a perfect remake of the original just with new levels.
They were full of shit (the reviewers) and I find it hard to believe they ever played the original if they thought the DS version was the same. |
And thank you for the heads up I think I'll just get the ones on PC then.
what they did to Populous is the same they did to Settlers
the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!
I still have the CD laying around the house somewhere. It was actually pretty fun to play through. Just a different sort of RTS, which was fine with me.

And Black & White. Put more soldiers and killing in it and completely destroyed the game.
I played the original, the sequel and Powermonger on Amiga. Never played the one the OP is about.
I loved Populous. The music and atmosphere was so great, so intense.
I adore that game. It's one of my all time favourites.
I would love nothing more than a sequel, developed by Lionhead. Hopefully Microsoft would let it be on PC.
They should improve the graphics, obviously, but keep the general gameplay the same. More buildings, more levels, more different types of follower...a Populous for the new generation.
