Forums - Nintendo - So my roommate got me Tales of Symphonia...

phew. At first I thought you were going to say it was Dawn of the New World, which would mean the worst lead character in the history of video games.

Emil is probably the most irritating and whiniest character ever but the other characters making fun of him, Decus amazing poses and cute little Martmart made up for it. Sorta.

Marta crying "Nooooooo! I can't believe Emil was looking at Sheena's chest!" is probably one of the cutest things I've ever experienced.

Edit:

If Emil had starred in Viva la Tales, I'm sure Jade would've dragged him out and beat the crap out of him atleast a dozen times.

Tales of Symphonia is my second favourite JRPG after Secret of Mana.

Expect awesomeness and what every decent JRPG should have: Multiplayer fun!

Secret of Mana had great multiplayer.

Tales of Symphonia has a crippled multiplayer by virtue of the fact that the battle camera doesn't care about anyone but 1st player which leads to a lot of situations where other players can't see themselves on screen or react to enemy attacks or run around with any clue where they're going.

Don't forget the fact that the other players don't get to do anything for about half the game. That needs to be said.

Tales of Symphonia was a pretty good game, I enjoyed it. The cast wasn't great, but overall its a good game.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

Yup, that can be annoying as hell, especially if the lead player is slow as hell and just have to run around with Zelos collecting gifts from his "hunnies" all the time...

@noname

How is that true when most of the first half you're in party battles and nor only Lloyd?

When you're in town, or generally not in battle, the other players are purely spectators. I found that really dull, and I liked Symphonia overall. By contrast, in Mana you control your character all the time. That makes it feel better to me, and to most people I know.

i learned a valuable lesson from my short time with dawn of the new world.

turn off the va. it'll make the game much more enjoyable.

That is very nice of your roommate, but you should wait until you are done with Spirit Tracks.

And when you play Symphonia, find yourself a person who's into (1) anime and (2) video games and play it with him/her. I played with my little brother, but a roommate or significant other can do in a pinch. Make sure you are playing with someone with whom you can make fun of the game at the drop of a hat, or at least can rack up huge combos with.

Otherwise

Otherwise do not bother

I loved it - but its a long game. You'll have to pick one, and play it through to completion... so maybe wait.

Tales of Symphonia is a lackluster game. Tales of Vesperia is where its at (Yuri Lowell FTW).
