Forums - Nintendo - I really love Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles (Also, Claire.)

played through the game on hard with my wife...and other than the camera bein an annoyance in some aspects, we liked the game a lot and were dissapointed when the credits rolled and the ride was over.  We definately had a great time playing the game...together.  I'm sure we'll be goin' through it a few more times uograding the weapons and playing on harder difficulty.  We'd def recommend the game, may not be perfect but its worth a buy...as is Dead Space Extraction btw.

On a side note, I'm glad steve "died"...he was annoying d-bag from start to finish of his role.

I'm tempted to buy this game. There is a little problem... I dont like first person games, mostly because I get dizzy really fast. So, is DSC really fun? and how long it is?

Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?

Took the game for a spin tonight. Most fun rail shooter I've played to date. The boss fights are incredible and frequent.

Although I love the shaky cam, they definitely got carried away with it. The pacing of the game gets too sluggish at times, with awkward silent pauses just to look around. The graphics are fantastic, though I would have traded some eye candy for a better framerate. It's pretty steady when it counts.

The dialogue is exactly as corny as it needs to be for RE, and hasn't made me wince yet.

The game is very fun, but if you have problems with motion sickness, you need to stay the hell away from this game.

God yes.

I had a lot more fun with DSC than I expected after hating UC. They fixed the broken mechanics of that game, but sadly decided to add the retarded shakey cam. Still once you get used to it it becomes only a minor headache.

If DS:E hadn't just come out I would recommend this one. But Dead Space is the better game unless you are an RE fanboy, or just really need a lot of level variety. The game is pretty awesome, but loses major points for the camera. I also want to agree that they butchered the story line of my favorite RE (CV) and to a lesser extent RE2. This is not fan service Capcom!

Anyways I was pleasntly surprised when the game iteself wasn't half as broken and boring as its predecessor . Yes this time getting a headshot isn't just blind luck.

It wasn't blind luck in UC. In fact it was a lot easier in UC sind if you have a steady aim then you had a steady aim on screen, unlike DSC where a steady aim translates to a reticle jumping about on screen due to the shaky cam.

Yeah I should have made that more clear. The actually headshot is easier, as in the region of the head is certainly bigger. But your right the camera makes the shooting itself quite difficult. Especially on the first playthrough.

To be fair though, they do tone down the shaking somewhat after a few levels. That Tyrant boss is a bitch though, and the camera is certainly to blame.

I can't totally put my finger on it, but UC seemed like a chore. I beat it because I'm invested in RE's story, and I payed full price. But never once did I really find it much fun at all. DSC on the other hand, while far from perfect has provided me with some level of enjoyment.

I think I may be letting DSC off a little easy simply because I wasn't as horribly disappointed as I was with the first. Perhaps my standards were lowered.

Funny i have the same history on RE games, or somehow similar... a friend of mine borrowed me Resident Evil 4 and UC at the same time and i started playing and found it.. ok at the time, a couple of monts later i watched Degeneration and i was like, wait.. i need to know more about this this is cool stuff, then i started playing Resident Evil 4 and got blowed instantly so i played UC and i loved it too!! since then ive been trying to play RE1 (thats too hard for me T_T i have droped it 3 times already) and now i got to play DC and... (comments below)

I LOVE IT TOO! its way better than UC, those who complain about the shaky camera should all die

the weird thing is that re4 technically isnt a regular re game it is kinda a side story... re5 is more resident evil outlined.
