Valkyria Chronicles wins for me. Such a beautiful game that had some great ideas in it about the use of "side characters" in an SRPG and the book presentation was a brilliant way to allow people to play any part of the game they feel like over and over again.

That said Demon's Souls is quite a great game as well.

This is a real toughie. Both VC and Demon's Souls are so good. DA:O is good but just not on the same level as those 2 IMO. If I was forced to choose I suppose I'd say VC but only by the very slimmest of margins.
