Forums - Sony - VG Chartz plays Final Fantasy VIII

@Gilgamesh, I would if I could but that two hours is going into Ninja Gaiden 2, then it's going into Bayonetta. Then it's going into White Knight Chronicles. And besides I can't just play that game 2 hours a day. I have to spend atleast 4 refining magic into higher level magics before I fight Ifrit. And let's not talk about the card game. Dammit! When will they make a pill that lets me get rested 8 hours without sleeping? And gustave how are you playing that on your PSP. There's that glitch in the emulator that freezes everytime you cast scan... or do anything.

Guess someone is still mad that president from the EU is not from UK!  Hilarious gimme me more =p.

I don't want anything to do with the money sucking EU, you can have your damned president, take Tony Blair off us too if you want him, I have had enough of the stupid regulations and counter productive quotas, I just want out of this corrupt organisation bent on stealing away british sovereignty.

<----theres a gesture from Churchill to help you mull things over.

Now that Final Fantasy VIII is released on the PSN we can get more people playing this.

I just got to the second disk, I haven't really had much trouble in any fights yet.

the pc version doens't work on vista/7- so i rebought it

I too bought another copy of Final Fantasy VIII; which marks my 4th copy of the game. On another note; they fixed the emulation on the PS3! Now I can put my PS2 away.

Alright, in comparison to FF VII

1: how long is it?

2. How are the graphics?

3: Is the battle system similar?

4: Is the story as good?

5: Is it a free roam like FF VII?

mM

Man, I saw this game on the PSN yesterday (I still own it on the PS1, though) and a chill ran down my spine. This game has the best ending/ending music of any RPG I've ever played but I KNOW I don't have what it takes, anymore. The game was tough!!!

I remember the story being a confusing mess, too. When VGChartz plays Final Fantasy IX, count me in.

FFVII and FVIII are pretty similar

1. FVIII may be a bit longer

2. Graphics are a bit better then VII, still PSOne graphics...but it doesn't seem to bother me

3. The battle system is slightly different, they added a new feature called 'Draw' where you can use ure enemies magic against them or stock it for yourself to use. The limit break only occurs when you have I think a quarter of your life. And the 'summons' (or GF in VIII) are pretty well the same accept in eight you can level them up and they have abilities that you can level up as well. I  like it.

4. Can't help you on this one, I completely forget the story, I think it's pretty good.

5. Yes.

The graphics in 8 are waaaaaay better than 7.

a true classic...

...played it on PC back then, man, i had tons of errors and sound stuttering and the movies would freeze but hell, i loved the game immensly regardless. Scoring a Lionheart was the most satisfying thing ever, EVER !
