You're pretty far off.  Khuutra was closer.

Anyway, for Khuutra's riddle, I guess Light Bulb. It's obviously, again, not what Tolkein intended, but it could work. Lantern?

A beehive?

Your riddle has me stumped too, in point of fact.

Lanterns and beehives have creases, folds, and openings. Same with lightbulbs.

Here is a hint: what TOlkien is describing has none of those things

Keep trying! You're halfway there!

No creases, folds or openings...

I'll assume the "golden" isn't metaphorical, or it's a really shitty riddle, because the whole thing is a metaphor.

A tree? Golden sap.

I can't help it!

Is it a butt

Is it a butt when farting

Re: tree - this is a good guess, but a tree's sap is intrinsic to the tree itself, and a tree can't be construed as a box. It doesn't contain sap in the sense that there's no nougat of sap in the center of it.

Yes, the golden thing is literal

Good god, you are being technical. Dairy Milk Caramel?

Again, you're on the right track, but you're moving between the rails rather than moving to the station.

You are so close it is stunning, but for the sake of being technical no, even those have creases

I can still remember how Gollum figured this one out.

Okami

To lavish praise upon this title, the assumption of a common plateau between player and game must be made.  I won't open my unworthy mouth.

The Mines of Moria?

Kimi wa ne tashika ni ano toki watashi no soba ni ita

Itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte

Sugu yoko de waratteita

Nakushitemo torimodosu kimi wo

I will never leave you

An egg isn't a box though.

Or that was a really bad word choice of the riddle.

...Yes, metaphorically, it is a box. A box without hinges, key, or lid

And inside of it a golden treasure be hid
