Nah, that just means that Sony didn't do as well as last gen, and Microsoft did better than last gen.  It's still to close to call either a winner, as it may even depend on which (if either) motion control is accepted by the public.

MS wanted the LEAD with their second console but as you can see they probably wont even hold the second place.

The two other companys started from nothing to the Top. If you look at the history MS is like Sega. Even worse they have achieved two thing this Gen they slowed down Sony and th PS3 and they have a bigger name. But thats all. If you take in account that MS is a huge company with a lot of Money. And they pumped a lot of money in the Console segment and still they are nowhere.

I am absolutely sure they will lose the second place in the next 12-18 months. The original Xbox was on second place.

MS has not won because to win you have to be the market leader. And thats what they wanted to achieve with the Xbox360 not the second(third) place. Sales wise they achieved something but if you want to compare it with Sega you would have to lower the numbers because the market was much smaller. So marketshare wise they are just poor.

Why do so much people like MS has achieved something. They clearly dont. For Home Consoles it looks like this:

Sony had a 8.25 million disadvantage the first day of September. Now they have 6.6 Million disadvantage and after the new numbers will come in on thursday it will be 6.5 Million. So Sony outsold MS by 1.75 Million and December has not begun yet. In January it will be around 5 Million lead for MS and then comes GT5 GOW 3 MAG Heavy Rain PS Wand FF13 (will push PS3 more then Xbox360). Plus many more games so it will be a really hard time for MS until Natal comes. And Natal would ahve to achieve a miracle for MS just to stop the trend. The PS3 peaks in 2010 Xbox360 had peaked in 2008 so Natal would have to make the impossible to reality. And make the Xbox360 peak in its fifth/sixth year again. If I remeber correctly this was achieved only by the DS. And the Xbox is no DS.

MS did a lot better then with their previous console. But why is this an achievment. ALL other Companys achieved wonders compared to this. MS hasnt done something really great. The games on the Xbox360 broke records (not even first party games). But the Xbox itself did nothing.
