The closest thing Nintendo ever had was Goldeneye. That game sold around the same amount as Halo 2.

I'm not sure you can BoS an FPS. Since BoS isn't about reamking or simplifying. It's about creating a product and supporting the product to a expanded market. Since I can't imagine how the FPS can be done differently I doubt it will ever happen. The very nature of the FPS is not very expanded friendly.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
Is there such thing as a "blue ocean FPS"?
Non-gamers are directly against the shooter genre. Most people don't like the violence, but I know quite a few people that can't even handle the perspective and get sick.
What exactly could be aimed more at the mass market than a game like MW2 that feature all the stuff politician have been trying to scare people with for the last 10 years ???????
The problem is the the people is confused, the only 2 Blue Ocean products that Nintendo has done for the Wii are Wii Fit (huge success) and Wii Music (it sold but under Nintendo predictions it has been a failure). Wii Sports isn´t a blue ocean product, it is nothing more than taking the first NES Sports games, remake them and make all them playable only with the Wii Controller.
Nintendo doesn't need a Blue Ocean FPS, it needs a shooter that can disrupt the genre and for disrupting the genre I am talking a shooter that is a crappy shooter for crappy consumers, one that the enthusiasts of the genre in other consoles and PC would hate but at the same time it will upscale forward with the time becoming an huge classic. The first Halo is an example of a disruptive FPS, when it was released a lot of FPS fans attacked it saying that the game was overhyped, when Gearbox made a better version for PC then almost everyone of the PC Gaming Sites raped the game saying that it was nothing of the other world but in the world of FPS Crappy Consumers (consoles) it was received with an high regard.
Something funny is happening with Modern Warfare on Wii, the game isn´t being put in high regard because it is a conversion of a game that was released 2 years ago and I believe that a game with the same quality than Modern Warfare and related completely to a new franchise it would sell a few times more and become the new Halo for the Wii.
The other issue is that Blue Ocean games typically rely on ease of use and accessibility...
And can you imagine the s***storm if Nintendo made a game where killing stuff was more accessible and easier to do ???
Seriously, noone wants to go there...
Depends on what is killed. A bunch of space bugs wouldn't get the same reaction as human beings.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
Super Mario Paintball (or Super Smash Bros Paintball) would be a huge hit with core and casual alike.
The did it nearly 30 years ago.
It's called Duck Hunt. It was pretty popular.
Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)
Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!
Not gonna happen. The people who are buying wii sports by and large are not going to be interested in an FPS game.
Long Live SHIO!
