They updated their warranty to cover the E74. Like 5 months ago when I got it, I called MS support, and told me I had to send the 360 back to the US (where I bought it) to get it repaired for free. So I didn't care about the warranty anymore, and fixed it myself.

But yes, they cover E74 in the 3 year warranty.

I have thought about these extended warranties but I was put off by Best buy's price. Best Buy Canada charges $60 for 2 year coverage, $80 for 3 year coverage. That's pretty steep and that's why I was put off. I didn't know about Target's inexpensive warranty plan though at the time.

Oh wait nvm Target doesn't operate in Canada apparently. I could have sworn that I saw a Target store in a mall in Canada though.

I'll give you a seven year warranty for $15 a year*.

*$15 for the first year, $44.99 each year after that.

well I was thinking of getting an xbox myself for piracy reasons, but I am thinking and most probably will end up getting a new laptop instead.

JK, but OT, your going to have to ask your retailer on what types of warranties they have...retailer warranties are the best, i have a 2 year warranty on my tv from walmart, so i dont have to go to samsung if there are any problems ^_^

Warranties are teh suk! Chances are you'll be fine without one.

you can usually buy a extra/extended warranty for anything at best buy.

Xbox 360 Warranty extended for E74

 

Hey guys, there have been a stories recently about the E74 error message that I wanted to address. The team is aware that a very small percentage of our Xbox 360 customers have reported receiving an error that displays E74 on their screen and after investigating the issue, we have determined that the E74 error message can indicate the general hardware failure that is associated with three flashing red lights error on the console.  As such, we will be covering any repairs due to the E74 error message under the three year warranty we announced related to the three flashing lights error, as well as reimbursing any customers that have already paid for an E74 related repair.  This applies to new consoles for the original retail purchaser, whether purchased before or after this change.  You can read additional information on the warranty extension on the Xbox.com support site. Today’s announcement reaffirms our commitment to customers that we stand behind our products and deliver a great Xbox experience.
