well not uncharted 2, but at least it's pretty.

i guess i hav ebeen spoiled by uncharted grass.

the scale of this game is huge.

that place is huge too, so it looks good for what it is, even though Oblivion did a good job on the grass.

Uncharted 2 isn't a free-roaming game though.  It has some non-linear paths you can take, but nothing on the scale that FF13 will have.

I believe the reason for the bland grass (other than the size of the plains area) is the detailed monsters.  There are some really huge and detailed beasts in those plains.

nepal have huge area tough, and it managed to have more decent grass,

while the path it's linear the world its' pretty open, when u get on the top of the hotel, u can see the map it's actually huge

WRPG's such as? Mass Effect 2 doesn't have character models and ambients quite as good as Final Fantasy XIII, and we don't know anything about Fable 3 or any other major WRPG's to formulate a proper comparison.

Edit - I said most trolling, not all trolling. Excuse if I doubt the overall intentions of those kind of posts, but you know as well as I do, that most of those kind of posts bring ulterior motives to them. You may have valid intentions and don't like the overall aspect of the game, and that's your choice, but as I pointed out, in those images you see things that are far, far from being meh.

Brink is looking interesting too.

Isn't Rage an Open World FPS with tidbits of Racing mechanisms and very few RPG elements? Also, most parts of the video showed a game that is on par, if a little better, than what Fallout 3 showed, especially in the character and enemy models.
I give it to you that ambients do look great, but they aren't better than those shown on FF, especially if you look at Cocoon pictures.

Brink looks interesting indeed, but as I said, we have very little information about it to formulate a proper comparison between both games.

As it stands now, the only WRPG that can compete on a graphical level with FFXIII is Mass Effect 2. Thankfully both games come out with a 2 months difference between them, so we can enjoy them completely xD

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

FFXIII might not have really great environment but its characeter and monster is more detailed than any RPG game. And there are hundreds types of them.

FF13 is open world?!

All FF's have been open world, although most of them always start off with limited areas in the beginning.    Once you get to a certain point in each FF game, you are free to do as you will: Revisit old places (if they are still there, kaboom!! lol), take on sidequests that weren't there before, complete tasks etc.

This will only take a moment of your time. *steals your watch*

Like everyone is saying: the grass.

But the models looks good.

why is there such a huge delay for localization :/

Its less than three months, I think thats great for a JRPG, especially Final Fantasy!
