Forums - Gaming Discussion - I'm convinced a Call of Duty Civil War edition could work.

I finally got around to playing Call of Juarez Bound In Blood.  The first chapter during the Civil War has me completely convinced that in the capable hands of the Call of Duty development teams, there could be a kick-ass game built around the era.

On a related thought, I think we're long past due for a well done Vietnam era game.  I think this untapped source material could be a good place for Medal of Honor to enter next although I know I read somewhere they're moving towards a more modern approach.  The story for a Vietnam based game could have the last level realizing that the main character has been hallucinating the whole time and was just having a PTSD flashback.  He has actually spent the entire game going on a modern day killing spree the whole time thinking he was back in 'Nam.

Agreed im a bit sick of games set in WW II, Civil War would be great as would be WW I (imagine the scale of battles) or Vietnam

Nothing wrong with ww2 but maybe do some research and pick some more interesting locations.

To bad the devs are to ignorant to look at some history beyond the typical America saves the world.

The CIVIL WAR? While we're at it, why don't we make a game about the French revolution?

Besides, an FPS with bayonets doesn't sound like much fun.

Well i still think that implemented well it could work (bayonets),  i would like developers to go outside safety zone in games and try something new. 

 

@strategyking , i see you've been playing Europa Universalis great game i've recently restarded playing Crusader Kings. I wish Paradox Games were more popular

Could breed too much resentment, if a high profile Civil War game were done (obviously the History Channel had that game, but it obviously wasn't worth notice)
