Forums - Sales - Is the world market becoming irreparably seperated into a war of attrition?

That no company can win?

Basically seems to me, the Xbox does well in english speaking countries (USA, Canada, UK, Australia)

Sony's territory is now limited to mainland Europe.

And Nintendo owns Japan.

Now, be aware that I mean RELATIVE. I mean, in actuality Nintendo does best in both USA and Japan and arguably Europe. That is why the term is RELATIVELY. For example, Sony may not always beat Nintendo in Europe, but they do better in Europe than elsewhere, so they are RELATIVELY strongest there. Similarly Xbox loses to Nintendo in USA, but is RELATIVELY strong there compared to other markets.

It seems to me the biggest loser here is Sony, because there's no way they can dominate all the territories anymore. But draw your own conclusions and discuss.

omg, another of your thread to bash the PS3.

NINTENDO owns everywhere.

No company can win? Barring a nuke dropping on Nintendo Headquarters they have won this gen by any measure of business success that you could think of.

They are dominating marketshare for handhelds in all three markets.

They have the largest marketshare for consoles in all three markets.

They are selling plenty of software on both the DS and Wii.

They are far more profitable per unit, let alone in total, compared to the other two players.

In terms of dominating territories, how have they not won?
