Forums - Nintendo - Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn arrives next monday

For me this is (with Zelda) the MAIN reason to have a Wii. I'm even more exited for this game then for SMG.

In the USA it arrives next monday, in Europe we have to wait a little longer.

A few facts about it:

- With 38 chapters it is the second longest Fire Emblem
- Sequel to Path of Radiance (which had a great story) (Ike returns!)
- 72 (!!!) characters

Anyone else really looking forward to this game? Anyone who's into RPG's and strategy should really try it, it's brilliant. If you're not sure, buy PoR for GameCube (should be quite cheap right now).

First day purchase for me. I have been waiting for this game since it launched in Japan 7 months ago.

I bought FE for GC 6 months ago full price and kinda regretted it. Don't get me wrong, the game was excellent, but me playing it for the first time started on Easy. Thus, I never lost and it got boring. Hadn't got the time since then to restart it on Normal to see if it's any better. I'll probably get RD when it comes to the EU if the time is right (not too many games around at that time).

Easy??? Try playing it on hard.....the AI exploits even the smallest slip up in your defense

it sucks to live in europe :(

routsounmanman,
You definitely shouldn't have started it on easy. As you're on a game forum, I assume you're at least a regular gamer and easy is meant for non-gamers (though I seriously doubt non-gamers will pick up FE).
Normal probably would have forced you to start battles over (or got characters killed) and hard is really tough, without room for mistakes, top of the bill Strategy.

Whoa, next Monday huh? Definite buy for me, I missed the GC one.

This is one of the few "difficult but good" games left out there. I remember tossing my GBA across the room in Rekka no Ken (the first NA GBA game) in that damn water temple, Only to come back an hour later, ready to restart.

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

First day purchase for me, I bought the Wii mainly for this game.
Those trying PoR should play in the difficult mode to get the true story. In lesser difficulty, you don't get the complete events, and come wondering why the "villains" did what they did

I hope we get the japanese voices, because if we, in Europe, get the crappy american dub, which isn't even our native language, I say farewell to NoE, and go buy all my games for a japanese Wii.

man i been waiting for this game for ages!!! and yes it does suck to live in europe, no need to remind us!

but loved path of radiance, completed on all difficulty levels, and lets just say it took a stupid amount of time from my everyday life to complete it! i'm guessing this fire emblem will be just as good as the GC version. whoever gets it on monday please post your impressions.... sorry a little excited about this so it takes away my pain of corruption being sold out in my area

360 Gamertag: PM me to find out!

Anxiously looking forward to this title as well, and even completing a playthrough of Path of Radiance to coincide with the new release as we speak! I do feel that even on Hard mode, the recent Fire Emblem games have been a bit too easy. (I have no idea why Nintendo strips out the ultra-hard Maniac difficulty when porting the games overseas. Silly Japanese and their cultural stereotypes about "stupid Americans"!)

I downloaded and played through some of the Famicom and Super Famicom games (in Japanese, which I definitely don't speak or read!) a while back, I guess in about 2001. Now those games were amazingly difficult; trying to complete some of the levels in Fire Emblem Gaiden had me tearing my hair out. (Some of the enemies could instantly teleport anywhere on the map screen at will and attack - ugh, good luck trying to form a strategy to defend against that!) If you broke your formation for even a single turn, multiple characters would usually die. I'm not sure I'd actually want to go through that frustration again, but it would be nice to have the option.
