Forums - Nintendo - Resident evil Darkside Chronicles sales?

I really can't see this selling as well as Umbrella Chronicles, which was positioned nicely at a time when quality third party core games on the Wii were few and far in between.

But who knows; maybe it will be a success story in the end.

I'm skipping it personally (having bought UC); there are simply a lot more quality core games on other platforms that I'd rather be playing, as much as I enjoy the RE franchise.

If it underperforms, it won't mean Capcom will realize the error of their ways and release an RE5 port though. If anything, it would simply mean lower budgets for future Capcom Wii games. At best, we could expect to see more re-mixes of prior RE games.

It had around 50k - 60k pre - orders in NA alone.

So, maybe it will sell around 70 - 80k first week in NA. That'll be quite good. In the following weeks it may increase , considering that Christmas is coming in a few weeks.

Sad to say that hasn't changed that much.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

We'll see tomorrow, I'm buying it there at the official European release

i reckon it will do well, i mean capcom is marketing this pretty well

Come on man, it certainly isn't as bad as it used to be.

When developers stop seeing the Wii as "we can't sell big budget games on it, because we won't put those games on it in the first place", that will be when it's better.

Yes while that is still a very annoying problem, it's a little harsh to say that nothing much has changed between launch and now. We've made some leaps that I'm grateful for...got some games that I'll remember forever

Capcom seems to have (somewhat) high expectations for this. I hope it bombs so hard that it will make them reconsider Wii development. I also hope Lost Planet 2 bomb hard enough to make them reconsider (upscaled) HD development.

If VG industry was a teen movie Capcom would be the nerd guy that betrayed his friends to enjoy a short lived time among the popular guys.

Onrail games are a very niche market that is oversaturated on Wii now. The Wii market is also budget conscious so not only is it competing with Dead Space:E it's competing with half priced HoTD:O and dirt cheap HoTD:2&3, RE:UC, etc.

I expect it's sales to be underwhelming.

Personally I don't need anymore onrail shooters but I'll probably pick this up to add to my RE collection - next year when it's cheap.
