Forums - General - Star Trek tops US DVD, BR and rental markets. 5.7 million units sold

The article states that the DVD/BR sold 5.7 million copies within the US alone with 38% (1.1 million) of those sales BR's.

Its good to see a great movie doing well in the home entertainment market.

Well my dad bought 1 of those copies.

I'll be buying it for DVD as soon as I have the money to spend. I've got a long list of DVD's I'm going to buy.

and how many of those were blu ray? If its more than 2M, color me impressed

Um read my post.

1.1 million were BR's.

EDIT. No idea about how it sold outside of the US. I know in Australia we got the DVD/BR release long before the US did and it was placed very prominantly in stores, so at least in reagards to Australia I think it would have done well.

It says 1.1 million.

awesome, Ill definalty be picking this up soon

I bought it because it's 20 bucks, not 30 bucks like every other Blu-Ray movie out there. Price it accordingly and I'll buy it, that's what I say. :)

My brother's friend got this. We all saw it in theaters.

And 3 of the 4 of us watching were ripping it apart with canon references.
