Forums - Sony - The Gran Turismo series going down the mountain?

Oh my god, now people is saying that Gran Turismo series is going downhill? I'm tired of these kind of threads. Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Halo, Forza, Megaman, for example, are all being oversaturated for at least one single person in the world. Leave it at that.

I find it extremelly ironic that the creator of the "official" GT5 thread is the one starting a GT bashing thread...

Lol, thats what I was kinda thinking.....

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

@Darth

It didn't get stickied cause he didn't ask for permision and it was really poor done. Plus with him getting so many bans I don't see how it can be kept. That's why I called it "official" :P

Life's Ironies are so delicious sometimes xD

It just seems to me as though the Gran Turismo name is being oversaturated with gta5p, 4, 4 prologue, 3,2, and 1. It still has the power to sell millions, but it seems as though there will never be an installment that sells as much as GT3 did. This could either be because GT3 sold an enourmous feat for a game, the ps2 sold so much, that people have moved onto other game series, or both.

It is obvious Gran Turismo will remain a Sony staple, but how long until it's importance is highly diminished? I know that I have just gotten personally tired of the graphical style. To me it's just aged to be a little stiff. Games like Need for Speed shift showcase their realism, and I hope GT could do that one day.

So, do you think the GT name is finally starting to see the effects of oversaturation? Have you gotten tired of Gran turismo personally? I think that they should work on textures on the grass and cement but thats just me....discuss!

Not even close man. GT is flipping amazing. And there's only been 5 games not counting prologues (because 99.999999% of people know the difference between prologue and full game). That's the same as Halo. By your logic Halo should be going down the mountian too. And theres much greater competition in the FPS market then the racing market.

so the japanese are racist against US products?
I would say they are more into supporting their own country's products in the same way that Americans like to buy American, even if the products are crap.

Look at the car industry. Americans have been buying inferior cars for generations simply because it's made in America.

Well, one would argue that even Americans are buying Japanese cars, which is why most of the American car makers are bankrupt.  I believe Toyota has been the most purchased car brand in the US for the past few years.

Yeah, GT5 demands a great official thread. I hope someone does it with passion, the current one sucks.

Worst bans ever.Japanese cleary don't buy as much products from Western as they should (Call of duty says hello for example)

as they should?  So you're deciding what the Japanese gamers should or shouldn't buy now?  How about it's the fact the Japanese culture do not glorify guns and wars like the western world does?  Guns are illegal in Japan and in fact their cops don't even carry guns.  So it's pretty understandable why FPS don't appeal to the Japanese palette.
