^ok then ironman, explain why everyone is harping over a Wii HD, when its obviously not needed, Wii is still outselling the PS2 at the same time in its life, with fewer price cuts

So "harping" over the posibility of a better console is hate? Plenty of people were "harping" over the PS3 slim, and just as many have been harping over the posibility of a 360 slim...do these people also hate Sony and MS? I think not. You sir, are very mixed up.

Saying the console needs an upgrade is the same thing saying it's not good enough in it's current form.  It's also a ridiculous thing to say as it is apparently good enough to a lot of people.

^Wii HD wouldn't be better

More expensive, fewer sales, less support

What you think is better is irrelevant given the fact that it would be an upgrade to what is currently available. And you still havn't explained how being excited at the posibility of a more powerful system, is hate by any stretch of the imagination.

No it isn't irrelevant, because it would hurt Wii sales and would result in even less third party support for the Wii HD than the current system.

Because releasing a Wii HD would kill the system, and result in Nintendo adopting the same tactics that have put the other companies in second and third place.  So wanting a Wii HD indicates you want Nintendo to abandon its success.

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Not true Avinash, they could have a wii with an upgraded gpu that will "upscale" all current games to at least 720p. This will not alienate the current wii userbase and game devs.  Adding a upgraded gpu that would allow for the increase in pixels would benefit nintendo and allow for more multiplatform games to be ported.  They could call it a Wii slim or wii HD and all the nintendo faithful would snatch it up like a bag full of kittens.  increase the ram size as well to help with the shift in performance and you could have a winner there.  The psp did this with a firmware upgrade that allowed it to increase its clock speed and memory increase (psp 2000/3000).

^No, because it would force people to buy a new system, that would alienate a bunch of people, no one wants to buy a new system just a few years after the last one.

Plus it would split all future games, between the old Wii and the new Wii, angering those millions who already bought a Wii. And since the HD Wii would have a zero base at first, why would Devs support it, when those who actually wanted HD games already would own a PS3 and 360.

Because the mainstream media doesn't care about staple Nintendo games anymore. And they for damn sure don't care about Wii (insert name here) games.

They like traditional games. And in that department, HD > Wii.

Go ahead, say "I'm tired of hearing the BS. The Wii has No More Heroes 2, Wii Zelda, Crystal Bearers, etc coming"

Please do. Upon which I'll make a list 3x longer with games the likes of Assassin's Creed 2, GT5, GoW3, FFXIII, etc. are coming.

And yea, I know it's "list warz", but I don't care. When you break down "why doesn't the Wii get respect", it all boils down to that.

You could do the same thing with the N64 vs PS1 and GC vs PS2.....

If it wasn't for the Wiimote controller I would consider a Wii.... I still like the GameCube tho.

Because it has a mediocre software library geared towards the casual audience.

This, pretty much exactly.

I'm not trying to be a troll, but I'd rather play Modern Warfare, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Halo, etc then Wii Fit, Wii Sports, etc.

There are still great games to be had on Wii like NSMBW, SMG and MP3 but most of their games are too casual for me.

Id rather play these games on the PC, so does that mean I should crap all over the HD consoles? =) Get my point? Just because you prefer one system over another, does not mean you should look down on another one.

And that's why right now Nintendo is owning your consoles.
