"Most third party games don't sell particularly well on Wii (the exception being...how do I explain this without saying the word "casual"?),"

That's because most of the games MADE by third parties are casual. They basically made the situation they are complaining about. If they had started with hit core games from the beginning, the sales would have been different.

Indeed. But look at the ones which aren't casual (and are exclusives, and are considered quality):

  • MadWorld
  • The Conduit
  • Zack and Wiki
  • No More Heroes

None of them broke a million, and only one broke 500k.

Then there are games like Dead Space Extraction.

Actually, Monster Hunter 3 has done really good in Japan.

Actually none of them has sold a million yet. No more Heroes is actually at 400k or so.

"Wii Fit is basically the door opener for shovelware games."

That just shot your credibility out of the water. You obviously haven't paid attention to gaming history.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

@IxisNaugus

You know how late it is, so I'm not going to read or reply to that novel until tomorrow.

Thankfully my opinion has more value to me than yours :)

It's not an opinion. It's just a flat out wrong claim. The games typically called shovelware have been around since the Golden Age. So you claiming it's any more recent is outright false.

That's why you lost credibility. It's like claiming the USSR was around before the 20th century.

The most important reason is the Wii doesn't have any good games. Mario, Metroid, and Zelda = FAIL! Also, the Wii remote sucks!

I went outside once, the graphics were great but the gameplay sucked!

Well then maybe you misunderstood me or I didn't explain it clear enough.

I was just trying to say that because of Wii Fit, developers gained more faith in a new kind of shovelware games (Even Nintendo - Vitality sensor is a joke. They're drifting apart from their origins). And now they try to copy it by giving customers (mostly) inferior products.

I'm not talking exclusively about fitness games here, but casual games in general.

What the hell makes you think it happened that way? You have some chart or release date data to back that up?

^ok then ironman, explain why everyone is harping over a Wii HD, when its obviously not needed, Wii is still outselling the PS2 at the same time in its life, with fewer price cuts

So "harping" over the posibility of a better console is hate? Plenty of people were "harping" over the PS3 slim, and just as many have been harping over the posibility of a 360 slim...do these people also hate Sony and MS? I think not. You sir, are very mixed up.
