I don't understand why all the focus is on the HD systems. That's all gaming sites seem to focus on.  game developers don't seem to give the wii the proper attention. I mean it's the best selling console this generation. I don't get why it doesn't get all the games the Hd systems have. Why port the first cod mw 2 yrs later to the wii. that's just one example. This is coming from someone who has a ps3 and 360. I personally regret selling my wii. I mean the nes was my first system. I personally respect the fact that nintendo is back on top, why can't everybody else.  Am I  right about this,are am I being to setimental!!!!!!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

Some ps3/360 fans have now considered buying a black wii now due to New super mario bros wii, they should also look for the other gems it has to offer. I love it so much I'm getting the black wii to sit next to my white one.

Because it has a mediocre software library geared towards the casual audience.

Should be soon if not other colours like red, blue and green.

Why don't WWW hardware sites focus on stock graphics chipsets, that ship on motherboards, and are targetted at the low-end consumer?

Why do surveys at places like GameSpot show that only 30% of their visitors still use a SD or ED TV?

...because the visitors to those sites are HD gamers. Not representative of the blue ocean at all.

I have no respect for people who don't respect a console that beats theirs.
I'm someone who won't let Nintendo...I think that if I really wanted the best graphics then I wouldn't be playing on consoles but on a PC

what ive always wondered, is if the wii was 1080p like the twins, would it still have this reputation? no,,,but at what cost?

basically, did nintendo have to alienate itself from a good proportion of the 16-24 male market in order to survive?

of course i think the answer is yes - to a degree - having a less powerful console made it affordable to the mass markets and families who cant afford £300 ps3's.

they will likely always lag behind the twins each gen now and be a more affordable option - and i think this strategy will work well for them. but it does come at a cost of not being cutting edge, and will cost them a lot of gamers and a loss of "gamer reputation"

but why should they care when they pulled 30 million gamers out of thin air to buy their console! :)

A lot of those sites are owned partly by companies invested in HD, or work closely with them, so there is a conflict of interest.

Because video games analysts posting on these gaming sites are mostly FPS fans, Simulation Racing fans or any other graphics whores who doesnt care about games like Mario or Zelda. Worst, they look down upon the Wii as a ''kiddy'' console. For them people who bought a Wii did a terrible mistake, people doesnt understand how better an HD console really is. In short, most of them are totally disconnected from the real world. This is why Wii games always get poor critics on Metacritic.
