Forums - Sales - Could Super Smash Bros. Brawl end up having higher sales than Halo 3?

What do you think?

I'm sure this thread already exists.

The odds are based on Hardware sales... that at the end, yes... Smash Brawl will sell more based on percentages of the past consoles...

But I don't think it will happen right away.

Halo 3 opened with incredible numbers.
Smash I do not think will do the same.
It's legs will eventually carry it over Halo numbers.

6 plus million with Gamecube sales for Melee???
Yes... it can

Predictions For Last Full Week of Sales in 2010)

WII - 80.35 Million

360 - 43.88 Million

PS3 - 41.40 Million

More terrible predictions coming Jan. 2011!!!

Yeah it almost certainly will in the long run. Not going to break it's opening day/week though.

Some of you are a bit too optimistic of the Wii's ability to sell software.

Unless Brawl pulls off some kind of miracle in Japan, Halo 3 will likely outsell it by at least a good million.

I mean, come on, it's already got nearly 6 million sales. Don't be ridiculous people.

Well with Sonic and Snake in it, it's reasonable to think that SSBB will easily excel past Melee, and if it does that then it has a very good shot a beating Halo 3.

EDIT: Not to mention online play, level builder and a ton of other features absent from it's predecesser that is sure to trigger almost anyone's interest who owns a Wii and is fond of even just one of the characters involved.

Hmmmmm.....

I hate to say it, but the addition of 2 characters does not warrant a 1.5 million increase in sales, although it's likely Halo 3 could sell 9 million or more.

I think it has a very good chance at passing Halo 3.
