Forums - Nintendo - More Pokemon crap!

Since the launch of the N64 Nintendo has been shoving Pokemon crap down are throats. Sure in the beggining I was alright with it. I loved Pokemon Snap, Stadium , Colleseum and XD. I loved the odd Pokemon title but Nintendo has been releasing more and more Pokemon games and none of them are true Pokemon titles like those found on the handhelds.

I remember when I first saw Pokemon:BattleRevolution. I thought the title was going to be a true sequel to XD. I thought it would be story driven and feature a decent single player campain. But nope Pokemon:BattleRevolution turned out to be a true sequel to Pokemon Stadium 2 with no story and even lacked the mini games of the stadium series.

Over the years we've been given crap like Hey You Pikachu, Pokemon Channel and Pokemon:Dash, Pokemon Rumble , My Pokemon Ranch...etc....etc...etc... The recent WiiWare titles are of such poor quality its realy suprising that they are coming from Nintendo themselves. I mean seriously Pokemon Channel is among the worst games I've ever played. Of course I was an adult when I played the dang thing, I guess the game was aimed at 3 year olds. But what is with all this I hate to call it, but its really like Nintendo made shovel ware.

Now I saw an interesting trailer. PokePark and the graphics looked amazing, but yet again it isn't a Pokemon RPG its another filler spin-off. Yes the game looks alright and I might rent it when it comes out. But its more of the same crap. The game appears to be a mini-game driven title with exploration of PokePark. We already have tons of mini-game games and sure the game has a large park to explore with some more playable Pokemon will the story be strong enough? Is the game another cash grab or is it actually worth the money of hardcore Nintendo fans.

Am I the only one wondering where the true sequal to DX is? I thought Creature was up to something big but it turns out its just another spin-off. As a Pokemon fan I'm getting upset with all the shovel ware. I've played most of the more recent crap. Sure Dungeons isn't bad but Ranger and Dash and Rumble and Channel and so fourth. Where are the decent Pokemon games? On the plus side I noticed Creature finally upgraded the character models for the Pokemon they look way better then BattleRevolution and the Collesium/XD series.

You should really learn your Pokemon history before you rant about it.

It seems your main gripe is that there hasn't been a new console Pokemon RPG since XD: Gale of Darkness. While I myself would enjoy a sequel to XD: Gale of Darkness, it's no reason to call games like Battle Revolution and Pokemon Channel crap.

Different strokes for different folks if you will. I can't really speak on Pokemon Channel's behalf but Battle Revolution does its job well. It shows your Pokemon from the DS games in full 3D, lets you challenge different Colosseums and rewards you with items and Pokemon for the DS game, and it lets you battle online with others who enjoy battling.

Also, a bit of a rule of thumb, any gaming series that has a huge fan base is going to tread new waters in the form of lore or playstyles that aren't necessarily accommodating to traditional fans.

Pixel Art can be fun.

every seris thats gotten to be as big as Pokemon (I think Mario is the only one) has had its share of milking and crap games. That being said some peopel enjoy different genres, I personally love Mario's Time Machine and Mario is Missing : /

Not to mention you really shouldn't be shocked, this goes right along with NINTENDO's expandable franchises mindset, they always create franchises that are not tied down to a specific genre, Pokemon is no exception

Just because a game isn't for you doesn't mean it's crap.

Though I am not interested in PokePark or the WiiWare Pokemon Ranch or Battle Revolution game, I'm not going to say they're crap because I wouldn't play them. The games have an audience. Whether or not you are apart of that audience is up to you.

Famitsu gave it a 34/40
