Could people stop with the can it save the PS3 crap?

Not one of the consoles top games have released, not one. I wonder how many of you will act when month after month a juggernaut game is released and sales maintain a "halo3" jump for months on end.

Also look at game releases for both and check what the hardware price was, then look at sales.

360 had its own cut, then HALO3 that why it out sold the PS3. All it took is a cut for the PS3 to spank the 360 in sales, and still not one huge game. 360 will be on life support when MGs4 is released, Uncharted might possibly do that.

It's slow going, but if any region will redeem the PS3, it'll be Europe.

Forget to mention people are buying quickly the 60GB version before BC is entirely disappearing.

1/ Playstation is big in Europe, not Sony.

3/ Ratchet is not released in Europe yet.

4/ PES08 is one of the best in series. See IGN review...

==> see others review site man. They are bashing the gameplay as never in the PES serie. This is the first time websites are making comparaison because they are divided between the FIFA08 gameplay and the PES2008 gameplay.
Before this sequel, PES was the KING without any discussion ...

People are buying PES depending on the console they have : PS3 or Xbox360.

Whoa, ioi changed the old numbers big time. Now they're showing that the PS3 sold over 100k on two weeks, and actually beat the Wii for a week right after the price drop.

The PS3 is doing very well in Europe right now due to one of the biggest games (our Madden) being released, as well as a major price drop. I don't think this high performance will last for long, but it definitely has a chance of getting second place in the region.

That's all the smart people or the people "in the know". Maybe BC won't matter to the people that buy a PS3 in 2009.

If "one of the best" means "people are regularly returning their copies because online mode is unplayable and even offline mode has many problems, pissing everyone off" then yes, it is one of the best. Visit any PS3/PES forum, or check out the reviews at amazon.co.uk and you'll see what I'm talking about.

On-topic: Let's wait until sales stabilize. It's impossible to know the impact of the price cut and the introduction of the new model until they do. For now, all we can say is that the PS3 is having a nice spike in sales after those measures.

Right now is going to be a very poor time to look at the sales of the PS3 as being representative of anything in Europe; the price drop and removal of backwards compatibility boosted sales of the 60GB quite dramatically but we will have difficultly seeing the "Real" demand for the 40GB PS3 until early 2008 because we will soon be in the Christmas shopping season.
