Forums - Sales - sony paying people to persuade?

the store near me is pretty Wii biased. each time you go there they will tell you how the wii is cheap and how your family will love it and how you will waste money on unhacked consoles (PS3) and how you will waste money on online games (Xbox 360)
but they sell them with costume firmware , and with 30 illegal games

lol that reminds me, last time when i bought my Trey, i was at the check out line, and the manager tried up and down to get me an extra 2 years of coverage, it went something like

Manager- Hey do you want the 2 years of coverage?

Garnett - Nah im good

Manager - You sure these things break alot

*Im looking around to see if there are any 360s around, but nope hes talking about the Trey*

Garnett - Nah its not worth it to me

Manager- These things have a 54% failure rate you know

Garnett- And they charge for online play and it doesnt have a blue ray player, listen are we talking about a 360 or the PS3? Cus i know my facts they dont break often, and if they do its hellacheaper to have Sony repair it than buy a warranty.

then the asshole finally left me alone. Must of been pissed off lol

Aww, the guy just missed a decimal point in his speech :P (5.4% failure rate sounds about right)

There's fanboyism all around. I guess my somewhat dislike of 360 fanboys came from my experience working at Futureshop awhile back. Of the 10+ workers that worked in the gaming department only 2 (including me..we were ganged up) liked the PS3. I had nothing against 360 I was just there being neutral and trying to balance out how both systems are good yet all the 360 fanboy workers just wouldnt except any positive thing i said about the PS3. And whenever a customer bought a 360 they would run up to me and brag it in my face. These workers were in their early adult ages, talk about maturity.

Good thing my best friend/cousin is a 360 fanboy and he knows how to act proper and we have our good debates =)

@Scottie

yeah lol

Most big box store warranties are around $50, while sending in to Sony averages over $100.  I agree store warranties are mostly useless/scams, but Sony's repair service isn't cheap...

Lol good, serves him right for spewing false information to cheat customers.

I remember one time this lady was trying to sell me disc protection for a PS3 game saying that they always get scratched up but all my discs are fine.

That scratch protection guarantee thing is an absolute scam IMO.

Scratch protection should be automatic and built into the purchase... after all, as all the anti-piracy organizations like to remind us, you're not buying a disc, you're buying the disc and the license to use the software. The disc alone without the license should be MUCH cheaper than the whole game, which would make scratch protection worthless.

The same storys can be found for 360 and the Wii. I read some of those already here on Vgchartz.

Not to mention that Blu Ray disc are hard to scratch.
