Forums - Nintendo - Rumor: Valve bringing Portal to Wii

Don't mean to be a downer or anything, but unless they either "insert" a lot of content or priced very cheaply (20?), it would be much better if people just bought orange box for PC.

Edit: Unless it's 'AND', but that's still only for those who haven't bought the orange box.

You can buy Portal for $20 on Steam, so a $20 Wii version would probably be their target price.

yeah, you are right, I just checked. Incidentally... I am not enjoying Half-Life 2 and the follow ups too much because I get motion sickness from them, though not TF2 and very little on portal

Edit: Still, Orange Box for PC is still over all a better deal, but we'll see what they come up with, might be interesting.

I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)

Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)

1 word: RTFA

You mean, "had better be" their target price. $25 tops.

Will it have the same graphics?

I would say the art direction would be pretty close, just with lower screen and texture resolution.

The big thing would be how the game could show the Wii's physics capabilities, as that hasn't really been shown off in many games (Super Mario Galaxy).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Why not give us the whole orange box, or even better, a new FPS? Metroid Prime 3 proves that Wii can give us an excellent FP experience.

Yes, I wanna TF2 :o) It would fit so perfectly....

Oh, the rumour's only about Portal, not the entire Orange Box? I hope they do the whole thing, because it's really a genre that the Wii has a chronic lack of.

Well this is a rumor, so that's a question to wait for a confirmation.

Please Valve, make it happen. This looks like a brilliant game.

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

Yeah HL2 actually looked damned good on the original X-box. If they are going to bring Portal over and scale the HL engine down for the Wii they just as well do the whole Orange Box.
