Unfortunetly Nintendo has a history of announcing games that never actually see completion, Donkey Kong Racing (GCN) Donkey Kong Wii (TGS 2005), Kirby Wii (E3 2006). We haven't even seen a single screen and Miyamoto often talks about projects that are either in early stages of development or get cancelled.

Untill I see some screens and video's I don't have the highest hopes that we'll even see Pikmin3 at all. Pikmin historically has just barely squeked by the million marker and dismal New Control sales may lead to the project getting cancelled. I mean Nintendo has numerous way more successful franchises they can milk rather then releasing Pikmin3. But you never know if its such a small team I would suspect we may see it at the next E3.

But as I said lots of games get announced and never seen or heard of again. Since we haven't heard anything in over a year. Don't get your hopes up!

I severely doubt Nintendo expected the New Play Control-line to light up the charts. The only one that actually did reasonably well is Mario Tennis, though I'm sure all of them made a profit given how cheap they must've been to make.

That said, Donkey Kong Racing got reformed into Barrel Blast, did it not? And they still list Kirby Wii on their release schedules, so it's not canceled (Which is very weird considering we never hear a word about it). If it were canceled they wouldn't keep positng the title on their release schedules.

I severely doubt Pikmin 3 will just disappear, because that would be ... Well, bizarre. And it's not like Nintendo only care about their big sellers, they've developed and published tons of games that didn't sell over 5 million. If they didn't care about Pikmin, they wouldnt've made a second one to begin with, and also not added Olimar to Brawl or make New Play Control-games of Pikmin either.

I was refering to the GameCube Donkey Kong Racing developed by Rare. The product was finished and they even had a release date of the next month. It was in Nintendo Power and everything. Then Microsoft bought Rare and Nintendo delayed the games release a few months, then cancelled it altogether. It was a finished product and Nintendo still cancelled it.

Also keep in mind Iwata announced Donkey Kong Wii at TGS 2005 and we haven't heard about that ever since either. What makes Pikmin so much better then DK? I don't consider word of mouth to be confirmation anymore. I remember the president of NOE saying Mother3 was headed to GBA in Europe. Never happened or NOE confirming ExiteTruck2 and that never happened either.

Unless we actually see screens and vids we can't let our hopes get too high.

Thing is, though, they keep mentioning Pikmin. And Pikmin is actually a major franchise compared to the others (Donkey Kong excluded). Thing about Donkey Kong is, I still haven't seen a source for Iwata mentioning it. All I hear is people always saying it, and I'm beginning to think that it was nothing more than an off-hand remark, like, he was talking about what franchises they have and mentioned Donkey Kong along with others.

I don't think being in Smash Bros. = new game on the way. Smash Bros. is full of characters that havn't seen a new release in yeeears.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

we are going to get zelda wii before pikmin 3

E3 and then a Q3 release next year. I think (hope) we will get MG2 and Metroid Other M in the first half. Pikmin will be their anchor for Q3 and then for Q4 we can all hope for....

To be honest, I don't see how Galaxy 2 would be anything other than first half 2010 since they openly stated it was pretty much completed for release for fall 2009, but they moved it up so it and NSMBWii wouldn't compete for sales with eachother.

This. I think Other M is likely to be a Q3 PAL release though, but probably Q2 in North America. I think Galaxy 2 should be out in Q2 worldwide, it's pretty much done but they'll hold off for a little while because of NSMB Wii. Pikmin 3 could very well see a release by the end of next year, I'm hoping it does, anyways.

This is definite, i think. Zelda Wii will be for holidays 2010, Pikmin 3 for sometime in 2011 (though before they release the new console. Hopefully)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

By that same logic if NSMBW is still selling butt loads come Q2, will Nintendo really launch another Mario game into the furray? I bet if NSMBW does really well and continues to perform well during the first half of 2010 that the game will be delayed to fall 2010 in an effort to bulster the Christmas roster and avoid hurting NSMBW's sales!
