Forums - Website Topics - We should get alerts when someone QUOTE or REPLY on our post respone

We'd have to carefully consider how this should be implemented, this has the potential of overwhelming popular members. The color idea might not be too bad of one. Maybe like something on the right side where it lists the threads you've recently posted on, change the color there, or have a number in a parenthesis next to the thread title.

Random Thread (2)

means you have 2 unread quoted replies.

That'd be cool, even if a little impractical. Sometimes, I visit a thread and I won't come back to it for days (if ever). Then, I realize that somebody had quoted me or asked me a question. It makes me look like a douche since I didn't reply or at least acknowledge them.

Same here.

OT: I think it's a very good idea. But is there a way to program such a thing?

Havn't read other peoples' suggestions.

How about the standard orange for a thread that's been posted in, and red if someone has replied, quoted you?

Haha, I suggested the same thing a few posts ago. You could've quoted me!

I guess =/

See, the problem with this is that it is a flawed system.
If you expect a reply to be from someone hitting "reply" or "quote", you're going to fail to notice when someone responds to you in a different way.
for example, my preferred response to a post is

"@"

While it would be a nice feature, I don't think this could be implemented. The quote box is essentialy an html shortcut, I can put whatever I want there, so I don't think it can be programmed to affect things

For example

Test

I don't remember the HTML code to make the XXX said appear, but it also can be done easily

just check the thread again

or just use FF and search your user-name with Ctrl-F

No! I have to much stuff up there from DB submissions and cheats which I have to keep up...

Former something....
