didn't most Wii fans agree that "rail-shooter" is just lazy and doesn't deserve good sales number? (quote from another highly rated railshooter thread).

Frankly, this game will bomb, a shame though, it looks great and Wii is supposed to deliver great shooting experience. Now the market is just flooded with railshooters

the game already bombed in japan under 10k first week, and i don't see this selling at all in the US, only the nintendo loyal fanbase, or the informed gamer will buy the game. It can reach 100k WW lifetime if lucky. Knowing nintendo, they'll price it at $49.99, and it will bomb. I will buy this when its cheap , $29.99

Fun but true fact: Sin and Punishment 64 is Nintendo's worst selling game ever.

No way, Captain Rainbow sold worse, and so did Takt of Magic.

Maybe it sold little when originally released on the N64, but it got over 260k downloads from the Virtual Console.

thats wat i thought..but wasn't sure... 500k doesn't look so crazy now

It's retail shipment sold less than both of those games. Adding VC does shift the scales though.

Don't get too excited yet: there's a difference between spending $10 to play a game you've repeatedly heard of (but couldn't play) and spending $50 to play a game that's freely available. Not trying to rain on your parade, but...

well, the game only was released in Japan and Europe, guess the japanese are smart enough to not swear loyalty to a company.

It's actually Japan-only.

thanks, my point still stands

BUY EXCITEBIKE WORLD RALLY so we can play :)

I would have, but the lack of local multiplayer kills me. I was so excited (some pun intended) when I heard about it, but not being able to relive the old days with my friends/family next to me kind of killed it. =^/

yeah, thats how i feel about New super mario bros wii, i mean i have the local multiplayer, but i want the online mode as well. You should buy Excite bike , its only $9.99, and theres are plenty of people playing online. I started a thread here to exchange FC, but we need more people to join.

^^^S&P is made by Treasure, not Nintendo, and it did not come out in Europe (until Virtual Console). I have the Japanese version of S&P2 and it's one of the best original titles on the Wii, certainly better than the first one. If you're remotely interested then you should get it and support niche development.

don't get me wrong, i bought S&P for the virtual console, the game is pretty good, i mean its a freaking treasure game, that said i will pick up      S&P 2 as long as it comes at a cheap price. $29.99> or bust

you have something against buying TREASURE( that u seem to have some respect for) at full price?

I'll keep thinking about it, but to be honest there are too many other games to play right now, and far too little time. If I do though, you'll be the first to know.

To be fair, a downloadable game for $14.99 will sell more than a retail game priced at $49.99.

It's not my most hyped game, but I'm really looking forward to it and have been for a very long time. Has it gotten a concrete EU release date yet?

With any luck... :D

I imported S&P2 a few months back when it came to Japan. Its a blast, really hard as hell like the first. Despite being on rails you have some controll over the character as the move across the screen. Sadly the game really doesn't look that good. Perhaps I'm just spoiled by some of great looking games recently, but this game certainly looks worse in motion than I would have hoped. The action and gameplay are great though and very action packed. One nice thing about the import was that the menus are easy to navigate and the story understandable even without speaking a word of Japanese.

The game is certainly unique and will remind folks of the first one, StarFox, or Panzer Dragoon. The boss battles are especially epic and keep the pace moving quickly. This is a game people will toil over highscores- which thanks to wifi can be easily submitted.

This is a game to get excited for if you love this genre. If you don't perhaps a rental is a better option. I kind of got sidetracked lately with all the big releases so thanks for the reminder to get back to S&P2 soon!
