Not on it's own, but it helps.
No Bluray=better audio though.
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
-Jim Sterling
So really Blu Ray for a games machine is not really necessary but as a multimedia aspect it is.
"...the best way to prepare [to be a programmer] is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written. In my case, I went to the garbage cans at the Computer Science Center and fished out listings of their operating system." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)
"Hey, Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)
Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.
""Windows [n.] - A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.""
not really but more amount of space(memory) is needed for better graphics.
Just like you can't fit an HD video film on a DVD cuz it takes a lot

In theory blu-ray does pot better graphics if done right, i may very well become a ps3/psp dev soon and i've learn'd enough to know in theory blu-rays greater storage can lead to better res and overall frame-rate advantages.

Blu ray= bigger storage for uncompressed files.
Tease.
| Squilliam said: In any case if a scene has a lot of textures the Xbox 360 is generally better due to more memory. If there are fewer textures then the PS3 has better textures due to them being of higher detail. This is a simplification but its pretty good overall. Btw: Sony encourages developers to fill up the disc with useless information to promote the BR drive in the PS3. |
Well I don't think uncompressed sound is considered useless information. Please back this claim up with a link or something.

Xbox 360 version response: Sound is always compressed I think you're referring to lossless compression. Also I don't feel like providing a link, go search it up yourself if you're interested.

it does allow for better graphics. just like it allows for better picture in movies.
it's up to the developers to use the ps3 correctly.
Killzone 2, MGS4, Uncharted 2 etc. Will never be matched on the 360.
