Modern Warfare 2 Already More Successful Than Modern Warfare 1 On PC

Yes, PC is the smallest percentage in terms of how much sold on each platform but that hardly means anything other than the PC is just the smallest market.

The PC version of Modern Warfare 2 has actually outsold the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in it's first week. Making it the most successful PC version.

Essentially, all this percentage proves is that the console versions sold great, not that the PC version sold poorly, because that's actually not the case. The PC version has done tremendous in it's first week, better than our previous game.

PC sales of the original were around 1.5 million, if I recall correctly.

We know that Modern Warfare 2 is selling like the proverbial hotcakes, so it's perhaps not too surprising to learn that the PC version has bettered the first week sales for predecessor Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

According to developer Infinity Ward's website, "the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 has actually outsold the PC version of Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in its first week, making it the most successful version."

Well we're not entirely sure it can be deemed 'the most successful version' just yet, after all, it's eventual sales may yet not be bigger than the earlier game. Someone's obviously after an easy headline.

And we must admit, the wording of that quote did have us initially thinking that the game's first week sales had already surpassed Call of Duty 4's in its entire lifetime, which in hindsight, would be bonkers. Wouldn't it...?

and i thought shio or another pc diehard fan said mw1 sold millions and probably sold more than mw1 ps3 or 360 version

Hey... Shio had a great post calculating the sales of the PC version to 8 a 10 million sales... cause it was in the top 10 of the steam charts and other download services.. Like Activision knows how much they sell with DD.. ;)

Seeing how they get money for every copy sold, retail or DD, I'm confident they know down to the unit number how many copies they have sold.............
