Forums - Microsoft - L4D2 is officially an AAA game!

I found both games very boring. Perhaps because of the complexity and lack of my understanding of the game. I played the 1st one once, while I was severely inebriated, and the second I played last night and it was okay...just didn't seem too special. Action for the infected seemed few and far between. Again, I take into account my lack of play time, but for now, this game remains "meh".

It will stay at a 90 for awhile until one day they randomly add one more poor review and it drops and stays at 89.

Story of a lot of game's lives on metacritic.

@V-rock

There was like 10 people in line, me taking pictures, and putting them on a "website" isnt the most normal thing to do, lol

@CGI- Agreed, The game is awesome

@People saying L4D2 is boring

A game doesn't have to be a 90 on metacritic to be AAA.

On topic, I still won't be picking this game up. The first was extremely lame.

According to more than half of the population of this site, it does.

Yeh but just because the people who visit this site say something does not actually make it so.

Trying to say that a game is AAA based on metacritic is extremely problematic. First of all, metacritic randomly chooses whatever reviews they feel like choosing. Secondly, the number of reviews used varies from game to game. You can imagine why this would create huge problems.

Here's a list of REAL AAA games this gen. which are not so according to Metacritic:

Fable II

Left 4 Dead

Dead Space

Demons Souls

Resident Evil 5

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune

Ratchet & Clank Future Tools of Destruction

In conclusion, Metacritic can stick it.

When you are up against the masses you will lose. I do not care for reviews, but we are in the minority. So if AAA means 90+ on metacritic to the masses then thats what it means. Does not mean you have to follow it but you can't go against it.

As to your list I do not consider Fable II, L4d, Dead Space, Demon Souls, or RE5 to be AAA. Great games yes, AAA no.

The IGN AU review should be tossed. That's not the same game everyone else has.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

It's the same game every Australian will have.

While i agree the review itself is shit and should have been the version from every other country... It should still count as it is a fully released version in a quite major part of the world.

yeah, Aussie version is awesome indeed.....

I think you spoke too soon here... you are also setting yourself for flamewars in the future... Kinda like how Crazzymann said KZ2 will sell what... 5 million lifetime? If this drops under 90+ prepare for people to say "Didn't live up to the hype" "Didn't meet expectations" ...of course... I've never seen a Ps3 fan do it to any 360 game though... so you might be safe. But I strongly encourage Ps3 fans to start giving some people the same treatment they recieve.
