Yeh but just because the people who visit this site say something does not actually make it so. Trying to say that a game is AAA based on metacritic is extremely problematic. First of all, metacritic randomly chooses whatever reviews they feel like choosing. Secondly, the number of reviews used varies from game to game. You can imagine why this would create huge problems. Here's a list of REAL AAA games this gen. which are not so according to Metacritic: Fable II Left 4 Dead Dead Space Demons Souls Resident Evil 5 Uncharted: Drakes Fortune Ratchet & Clank Future Tools of Destruction In conclusion, Metacritic can stick it.

When you are up against the masses you will lose. I do not care for reviews, but we are in the minority. So if AAA means 90+ on metacritic to the masses then thats what it means. Does not mean you have to follow it but you can't go against it.
As to your list I do not consider Fable II, L4d, Dead Space, Demon Souls, or RE5 to be AAA. Great games yes, AAA no.
