Nice list, regarding the upcoming PSN games Snakeball also looks like fun.

My technical top 3 I love about the PS3:

1) Cell processor (Just look at R&C TOD and Super Stardust HD already)
2) Blu-Ray drive (for gaming as well as movies)
3) Sturdy

3 games I look most forward to: Uncharted, Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4.

Things I like.

1) Most likely going to get the most tactics games. Like that one Valkrie game who's name i don't even know that looks like Future tactcs... which was an awesome game, well gameplay wise, the story and characters sucked.

2) Sounds like it's going to hold up a lot better then the PS2.

3) It's getting the next Persona game.

4) Has backwords compatability. (hence why it being more sturdy then the PS2 matters.)

5) COD 4.

That's all I can think of right now.

Things I like...

1) The Cell (not OMGZ TEH CELL, I've actually written code for this thing and I like it)

2) Linux

3) It's $400 now. 

4) #1 + #2 + #3 above = cheap Cell workstation compared to an IBM Blade server

5) DVR capability (once they release a tuner)

6) You know why it looks like a George Foreman?  Because George Foreman grills look pretty nice, actually.

7) Spiffy downloadable games

8) Next year, it will actually have retail games I'd like to play.

Although it's oversized, I still like the hardware look the best. It has personality.

There are a lot of interesting exclusives coming to the system. Objectively I think 360 has the best game lineup but for me personally the PS3 lineup is equal to or greater than the 360 lineup. LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank, Final Fantasy and White Knight Story are leading the pack in my books.

Quiet maybe?

1. Free online

2. It's game selection

3. PSP connectivity

4. Blu-ray

5. Built-in power brick :D

6. Wireless controllers

Things to like:

1. Makes HDTV worthwhile. BluRay discs look out-freaking-standing (to me, the difference with DVD is noticeable, but then I'm a media geek). The media playback capabilities alone are the equivalent of a high-end AV system.

2. Topnotch build and reliability.

3. Sheer power of the system. Sony did the right thing and let the engineers run riot with multicore. By fall of 2008, gamers everywhere will be very, very happy about this.

4. Excellent backwards compatibility for those who want it (lots of users don't care, of course, but I appreciate the fact that I have a choice in terms of models).

5. Overall presentation and interface -- classy look, automatic disc intake, built-in power brick, low-noise fan and touch controls.

Im i missing something here? most of you guys are giving reason why you like the ps3 that arent even out yet?

The title of the thread should read: "Why I will/might like my ps3" not "Why I like my ps3"

You like the UI, Bod? I hate it. I think the 360 dashboard is vastly superior.

Anyway, things I do like:

1. Upscaled PS2 games FTW
2. Quiet & Reliable (though I have yet to have a problem with my 360)
3. MGS4, Uncharted, GT5
4. PSN game lineup... some of that stuff looks awesome.

 It won't flop if people can get over the fear and just support it. ;) Right now I'm having such a ball with the PSN games and Ratchet and stuff from my other thread that I have nothing but the utmost optimism for the PS3. I can't even begin to imagine what Sony has in store for 08. 

Games that aren't out yet are still perfectly valid reasons for liking a console.  I can like the PS3 for GT5 as much as I can like my Wii for SMG and SSBB.
