The PS3 will be on store shelves for 7 more years. It will sell for 7 more years. They said the PS Brand was profitable.

Sony opperates differently than Nintendo. Its far to early to say whether or not it ends up as a failure for them.

I consider a console where, I chose games like wii fit plus and rabbids go home as my contenders for game of the year to be a failure.

Personally, it's just an opinion.

PS3 will sell for 10 more years?  Who will buy it?  What companies will support it?  Companies don't decide how long a product sells, consumers do, sales and profits do,  and currently the only console with any chance at longevity is the Wii.

The Wii will be off the shelves in less than 2 years. It has absolutely nothing left for it besides nintendo first party games. There is absolutely nothing left to look forward to for it in terms of 3rd party games.

Developers don't even want to support it anymore as it has generally been a loss for them in terms of profit. The Wii was last place for profit for a number of big publishers this year.

I'm not saying it's a failure, it's obviously not. But its audience isn't buying software that doesn't have nintendo strapped to it.

The Wii is an amazing machine, but even with an upgrade it will still not be as powerful as a ps3. The PS3 and the 360 will far outlast the wii in terms of shelf life.

Uh-oh, commence fire in 3...2...

guys stop arguing with that avinash cause hes just gonna keep coming back with even more bullshit, i mean look at his predicitons for gods sake! guys a joke.

Yeah, I'm done. Grats to the PS3. It's nice to see the console that deserves the sales the most start to get them. Sony is working really hard to do this and it's a great feat. We didn't need butthurt acolytes coming in here shitting up the thread.

How is anything I said BS, seems to me you guys just can't argue the points and have to resort to talking about my predictions lol, which just proves how weak your arguments are

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

I was pretty shocked that MLB 09: The Show didn't make the list for best team sports game.  It's gotta be the best sports game I've played since the days of the Genesis.

Because of the 10 year lifecycle. Is this really something new didnt they said the same for PS2 ? All Sony homeconsoles had until now 10 year lifecycle.

They launched PS1 in 1994 and they stopped producing the Playstation in 2006 thats a 12 year Lifecycle.

The PS2 was launched in March 2000 in Japan and later in the year in Europe and USA. They still got new games and Fifa 2010 was even in the Charts a couple of weeks ago in some countrys even higher then Xbox360 Version.

The PS2 still sells and in March 2010 the Console is 10 years on the market and i am sure it will be atleast as long on the market as the PS1 was (12 years).

A 10 year lifecycle console from Sony is the standard for them. They didnt said that they wont release another Console during the LifeSpan of the PS3.

Whats so special about it ? Why the people talk about it ? Thats nothing special. And if I remember correctly they said the exact same thing before the PS2 launched.

PS1 and 2 were generation leaders, 3...not so much, that's why people talk about it, because Sony hasn't backed off it yet, they still mention it every now and then, even though its not going to happen

I stopped arguing because you seem to think that Nintendo doesn't need third party software.

You're right, they don't if they are trying to sell an exercise machine, but if they want to sell a gaming console they most certainly do.

The wii is in another world anyway. It's not even the same thing. You can't compare it to the PS3 and the 360, or the ps2 for that matter.

How much good third party support has the Wii gotten so far?  Not much.  How well is it selling? better than the PS2 and DS.

And Wii will get third party support, it may be mostly mediocre, with a few good to great games here and there, but you're right, most games I own on the Wii are Nintendo made.

Oh its still a gaming console, the highest selling games of the gen are on the Wii, Not PS3 or 36 or multiplats, but Wii exclusives
