Going back to basics did great for Wii Sports. So go back to the ideas of the original Zelda and expand on them, Nintendo. I want a massive and interesting world that's chock-full of things to do and places to explore, complimented with well-designed dungeons and fun-to-use items. Screw the cutscenes, screw the story, and let me make my own adventure.
Do it Nintendo. You know you want to! |
Indeed, that could be quite something... Or, perhaps more likely, it could be a Zelda version of Oblivion (into which I will plumet if this is what ultimately happens)!
No, I don't think so. I do want elements from the original game - especially freedom to tackle the dungeons in almost any order - but I don't want Nintendo to simply throw away the series' legacy. Mario did not, by the way. NSMB Wii borrows elements from just about every Mario game ever, including the 3D games. No, I think it would be better if the new game implemented the best of both worlds along with it's own inovations (we know the controll scheme will be different) which hopefully is what is being done here.
