Forums - Sony - Fuzzmosis Reviews: Eye of Judgement and Ratchet & Clank

Interesting review, i bought this game last night and have played it for 12-13 hours so far, i'm pretty sure i'm near the end now. The game is pretty easy early on, but it starts to pick up after the 5 hours, as i failed a couple of times on the later boss's.

I only have 2 problems so far, the linear levels, i tried to explore the levels when i first started playing, but every way i went i found death and walls. The second problem is the camera, for the most part you can control it perfectly, but a couple times it seems to have a mind of its own and screws up when i try to jump across platforms.

This is the second Platformer i have ever played, the first being Sly cooper for the PS2. With the linear levels i was really at home with the game and it felt like playing sly all over again, even if that was around 5 years ago.

9/10 for me, its a great game, just not perfect. I can't wait to play it again and unlock everything. The game is another AAA game by Insomniac in under 1year, very impressive.

8.5 IMO isn't per se a bad score, but I'll reserve my score for when I completed the game, I like hard reviews though, but of course only across all games (reviewing all games equally hard).

My scores for some of the games I completed on my PS3 and on my past XBox 360 so far (comparitive scores for past favourite games GTA: San Andreas, Mario64, Half-Life 2 , 8.5, 9, 8.5):

Super Stardust HD: 8.5
God of War 2: 8.5
Oblivion (PS3): 8 (based on many dozens hours of gameplay, for example Nine Divines quest completed)
Resistance Fall of Man: 8
God of War: 8
Jak 3: 7.5
Ape Escape 2 and 3: 7 (part 3 a bit too easy, but well suited for kids and is more polished and diverse than part 2)
Gears of War: 7 (yes a 8.5 for graphics, but the rest drags down the score considerably for me)
Super Ruba Dub: 7 (considering cost)
Calling all Cars: 7 (considering cost)
Fl0w: 6 (considering cost)

(A game I got far with, but couldn't be bothered to finish: Condemned: 4)

@soriku

I dont think he ever beats his games... The best parts are usually near the end (heavenly word).

Will the groovitron still suck?

Maybe in your opinion, but I'm sure many people love it.

IGN: "Devices are new as well, and these are specialized "limited use" items that include the Transmorpher (it's Penguins this time, alas not as a perma-weapon) and the ultra-famous Groovitron disco ball. These extra goodies are great fun and add yet another layer to an already deep gameplay experience."

That's the way I usually prefer my games, gradually more impressive with some big bangs along the way and cherry on the pie at the end. Keeps my interest tuned and pushes me to go on without losing interest.

According to IGN: "story is strong and ends with closure and a cliffhanger (figure that one out)"

I have heard too many bad things about the EoJ camera now. Just doesn't seem to be well executed. Pity, it could be great - and a decent camera at that scan distance - it should be almost perfect.

Only played the R&C demo. It was fun, biggest issue was lack of challenge & linearity. Apart from that, seemed like a very fun game.

So much bitching over a review... Just be glad that Fuzzmosis told the truth about how much he played the game, it's not like he's hiding anything, right?

Take this opinion as it's presented to you, and if you're just bitching because you didn't like the score, then go and play the game instead of ranting about someone's opinion.

Time for tangent rant on what I've heard:Alright, so allegedly the computer only plays with cards you have scanned. Can someone confirm this for me? See, I figure, if you want to make players WANT to get cards, give them all sorts of options to let them see what amazing cards they are missing! Have the computer always have a deck with at least 10 cards that the player has never scanned, so they can see how awesome some other cards are! Increase demand! This rant may be revoked in the case that the computer actually does use all 120 cards in some fashion.

Not true. According to the GT review if you manage to beat the computer new cards become unlocked in the computers deck. The more times you beat the computer, the more cards are added.
