It should be considered that GT4 was the last PS22 GT4.  Does GT3 still sell?

GT6 is planned for this generation.  So GT5 legs will be cut by that.

I should bookmark this one. Also, I think I'm gonna start a new thread with a title like : GT5 will sell over 30 million units! This should bring a lot of deluded fanboys to post.

As ridiculous as the original post is I would say 8 million is a minimum, not a maximum. Consider that GT5: Prologue can sell 4 million, do you really think a main GT game will only double its sales?

Original Xbox was always trailing the PS2 by a huge amount and was losing a ton of money, right now they are in the overall lead but PS3 is currently selling better, and they have actually made some money on the 360 and Sony is losing a lot of money, cuts will come faster

I read the reasoning, and I still don't think it would happen, even with the push from Top Gear. And yes, anything is possible, but it's highly unlikely any exclusive game this gen could reach 20 million unless it's on Wii.

I would also like to point out that no games have reached 20m units on a console other than Nintendo games and most of those were heavily bundled. If GT5 even managed 15m units it would be phenomenal while breaking 10m would be amazing.

Did you know, that Nintendo has 25/35 games in the +10m sold category that VGChartz has tracked (probably missing some PC sales)

EDIT: and of course the +10m category is on a single console, so some multiplatform titles may actually reach that level.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
