I dont think anyone caught this yet but FF7 isnt only on PS2. It is also on PC.  Part of the reason the numbers are so bug for that game. Not the only reason of course but it does help

Outside of Japan, it would have to sell 8 million.

Not a chance, it will be luck to reach 1 million on the Xbox 360, as it already has proved it cannot sell RPG's
Meanwhile the PS3 Version should at least outsell FF XII. I am predicting 7-8 million LTD maximum.
